Old Business and New Business

Cedrick's secretary let Calvine in and Ness turns to his friend "Buddy!" he stands and holds out a hand "We got something that might fan the engineering spark in ya." he says as he hands the padd over to him.

It had metallurgical report of the ore from Noreal and the new super metal on it "If you wish, I would like you to start work designing our new line of ships as well as getting started on commercial ships as well." she says to him "If the UN meeting goes well, we might start rolling out ships to the public."

Ness nods "And when that happens, we'll need ships that are 'user friendly'. Like the Delta Flyer or a Runabout." he says.

Calvine was looking over what was given to, this definitely had some potential for any future ships or what not they may make in the future of things. "This is something. I can definitely see where this would all be useful. Not bad for just getting some raw resources. As for starting? Sure if you want me to. I guess Noreal scientist just didn't have the knowledge to make the most use out of it yet."

Cedrick shakes her head "It is not that they are not smart enough, they surely are. It is just that they lack our advanced refining facilities and the proper raw materials from Earth to make this new metal." she says.

Ness nods "Yeah, man. We've combined materials from both Earth ores and Noreal ores to make this new metal." he explains "So alone, both ours and theirs are just metal, but together it's a super metal that is not only stronger and lighter, but it has a naturally occurring ablative effect to particle weapons."

Cedrick nods in return "With this metal, we can make our ships even more safer. This could be a game changer for us." though she was trying hard to hide it, Cedrick was clearly excited by this.

Calvine could tell by now when Cedrick was excited, or at least a rough idea given all the time spent together. "So about how soon could we get started on these to new ships?"

Cedrick looks over to Ness, then back to Calvine "That is the thing I wanted to talk to you about..." she starts "I was hoping you would design the new ships. In keeping with the Federation tradition, of course." she says.

Ness shrugs "Starfleet ships are aesthetically pleasing." he says with a chuckle.

"You will have the full resources of Paragon at your disposal." she says to Calvine as she holds a data padd over to him, offering him one of her very rare tiny smiles.

Calvine looked over the data pad after taking it, this was giving him just a bit of noslagia for understandbale reasons. "I'd be more then happy to help Cedrick. Heck with Ness here helping and doing something I like it be more fun then work."

Ness nods "Yeah, of course. But for now, at least, I have something I need to be doing." he says as he stands up "I'll see ya both at lunch." he says as he heads out.

Cedrick, though she tries to hide it, looks anxious. She knew Ness was about to bring Masato back to her and she wanted to be there, but she knew she would only get in the way.

Calvine was about to leave to get to work but picked up something from Cedrick or at least he thought he did. She wasn't Exactly the expressive type so he kinda had adapt. "Might just be reading too much into things, but you ok?"

Skylar arrived on earth after a interesting trip and dealing with more headaches far as politics go. After Sebastian and those associated with him had been taken care of, she was allowed some time away to take it easy after all she had been through.

Earth seemed like a odd choice but she did want to give it a fair chance since hearing stuff and seeing and judging in person were two different things. The other reason is she wanted to see Ness again as well as inform him of what happened since he had left. Sure it may of been a drop in a bucket since helping people is what he did, but to Skylar it meant the world. She was not going to give up that easily on someone like that. It had been a long time since anyone had caught her interest like that.

The air quality seems dreadful though. I'm not sure how the Humans deal with it...

She'd have her base of operations at one of these hotels and then go from there later.

Cedrick shrugs s bit "I do not know... I believe I am, Worried... that something will go wrong, when he starts the transfer..." she mumbles "I am so ready for Masato to be back with me." she says looking at Calvine "Did you know it was loneliness that made me to create her and the others?" she asks "So I guess, this whole symbiote infestation is my fault, because I wished for some company.".

As Skyler gets to Tokyo, there was a Hunter waiting for her. He was to be her escort and bodyguard, because she was on the ruling council of Noreal and as such, she was a VIP here.

Calvine decided to give her hand a reassuring squeeze. "She'll be fine. Ness is one of the best at what he does. As for the whole symbiote infestestation, it might not of been the best idea but so far nothing major has come from it so don't beat yourself up about it. It's just something to learn from."

"I believe I have about everything." Zara said from behind carrying a few bags. Skylar hadn't wanted them to spend some unknown amount of time alone in the mansion so she offered if she wanted to. She had enough to get them separate rooms for them both far as hotel went.

"That's all right. As long as everything is accounted for." Skylar turned towards the Hunter. "My name is Skylar Bertram and this is my friend Zara Sylvian. May we have your name?"

Cedrick knew Calvine was right amd that everything would be fine, but he was not so right about the Symbiotes. Cedrick had thought they had died off, but they were back and they were spreading once more. Looking for hosts, any way they could find them.

The Hunter turns his burning orange/yellow eyes towards Skyler and Zara "My name is Maddox Rademaker..." he growls "I am to be your guide and guard..." he snarls "Where shall we go first..?" he asks.

"We'll talk later. Both of us got work to take care of." Calvine decided to leave the young woman to her work after that so he could focus on his own. He had no idea she was suppose to meet with Espen some time today or anything else but she was a big girl she could handle it.

Skylar wasn't sure what to make of them, but she withhold judgement since they just met. "We would like to head to a hotel or place of lodging before anything else."

Mad nods "Follow me..." he growls "We have a hotel rooms reserved for you both already..." he growls as he leads the two out.

He didn't seem to like the sun very much as he motions for a black SUV to pull up and Mad holds the door open for them.

"Thank you for your generosity." Zara knew in part they were just doing their job but she still always felt it prudent to be polite to people especially those did a service whether it was their job or not.

She sensed mistress had a jumbled mix of emotions, but choose not to comment on them as it was not her place. She didn't make it a habit to do so, but between being more in tuned with her empathy and knowing Skylar as she did it was hard not to.

Zara was actually fairly curious of what the fuss about earth was herself; there had to be some reason many came here. Perhaps when Noreal was public there be some interested in moving to her home, or perhaps very little would be interested in doing so. It was far too soon to say.

It was a somewhat long drive to the hotel, as the roadways were packed. But once there, it was a rather luxurious hotel and Mad escorts the two to their Hotel Rooms as each of them had their own rooms "If you need me... say my name... and I shall be there..." he growls as he heads back outside.

Skylar watched the young man leave before focusing her attention back to the hotel room, it was nice in its own way. She was going have to mingle with the natives and see more for herself before she could get a better idea of earth and its people.

She had to admit she was nervous about approaching Ness when the time came, but she felt she needed to try and not be a wall flower. There wasn't much of a doubt Ness had attracted some female attention with what he did, and they be more forward then she was. That was either a positive or negative depending how Ness reacted to such attention and what they did.

"Mistress, are you all right? I can't help but notice you seem to be in thought a bit more then usual. Is it about master Ness?"

Skylar nodded slightly. "A bit. It's been a long time since I had interest in anyone that I forgotten what its like."

The other woman was quite a bit before answering. "I have never been with anyone so I can't comment on that aspect much. However, I believe no matter how things turn out you'll be fine. You have never let things stop you for long, and if you could get through everything else then this will be no different."

Despite all she had been through, Zara was a surprisingly optimistic person. She didn't know why that was but if could keep that attitude there was no reason for them to shrink away. "Thank you Zara. You're a very good friend. What do you think of our guide? I don't know why but they make a part of me uneasy."

"Maddox?" Zara clarified. "Seeing as we just met, I do not like judge based on first impressions and not knowing them. I do not feel the same unease you feel about them, so I unfortunately can't say why. I will say while our feeling and instincts gear us in a general way, they are not always correct. My brother, along with those in his circle were very pleasant people both in mannerism's and looks. That didn't change how they actually were as people. I will admit he is handsome in his own way."

Skylar didn't like to be reminded of that, but she knew her friend was correct. "You are of course correct. I know about the last part too well. Enough of that though I'm sure we are both hungry. I'll order room service for the both of us. Then we'll discuss what our next move will be." She Did study earth and this particular place as much as she could but it didn't mean she'd know what get to eat so she'd have to judge based on piictures alone.

Skylar dialed food service and ordered; she hoped they be here soon.

Their food got there within fifteen minuets and it was Mad who delivered it. As their bodyguard, he needed to inspect the food to make sure it was safe. Mad was another one who had the fancy Paragon Corp phone with the Tricorder app. The Hunters wanted to standardize Paragon Phones, but to supply the Whole Hunter corp would cost millions.

Skylar didn't know why Mad made her uncomfortable, it couldn't just be because they were strong. Lady Yasuko was incredibly strong from all she heard even if she hadn't seen it in person. It could be because of their character, but given his occupation and the importance of things she doubted it was that either.

Only thing she could think of, it was due to whatever the source of his powers were. Maybe? She really had no clue.

She made sure to keep her matters and swallow her food. "Once we're finished, I would to visit Paragon Corp. There is a man that works there by the name of Ness I want to talk to, unfortunately I have no other way which to get into contact with him."

Espen wasn't sure what it was about, but he knew Cedrick wanted to discuss something important with him so he opted to make time out of his schedule to see what it was about. If he had to guess, probably some details about that meeting when it came up.

Things had been relatively slow on his end, but in a good way. Amadeus had thankfully been dealt with for the time being. Anita had applied to come back, which he was more then happy with since as he told them they were welcome back at any time with no fuss. He wasn't going to let talent go to waste, and he was still thinking of a potential successor should he retire.

Mad's burning eyes were locked onto Skyler's peering into her very soul, it felt like "Ness Burger... he does not work for... or at... Paragon Corp..." he growls "He comes and goes as he pleases..." he says "Most of the time... he travels around... helping those who can not help themselves... and he is not limited to just our planet... or our time..." he snarls. Mad knew he had said too much, but if Ness didn't hide what he could do, why should he? "However... if that is where you wish to go... I shall bring the car around..." he growls as he leaves *We should kill them... consume their hearts... their darkness... it will add to ours... and makes us stronger...* the Darkness hisses in Mad's mind.

The holographic secretary outside of Cedrick's office looks up "Ah, Mister Goldsmith. You are right in time for your noon appointment with Miss Darkside. Let me buss you in." she says as she hits the com.

The red light turns green, which means Cedrick answered, but she remains silent "Apologizes for bother you, Miss Darkside, but Mister Goldsmith is here for your afternoon appointment." she says and something pops up on her screen and she looks back to Espen "You may enter whenever you are ready, Mister Goldsmith." she says with a smile.

Inside the office, Cedrick was in a nice one piece dress. She was standing behind her desk, a blank expression on her face "Mister Goldsmith, please come in." she says as she motions to one of the seats "Thank you for meeting with me on such short notice. I know you are a very busy man and I will not try to take up much of your time." she says.

If Skylar's telepathy allowed her to read thoughts instead of just talk to people and she heard the creepy voice, it would have proved her suspicions of why Mad put her on guard a bit. She didn't like judging those she didn't know as well, but there was something about his powers she did just not like.

"Mistress? Are you all right?" Zara asked, mildly concerned.

The other woman shook her head. "I am. Just thinking. Anyway, hopefully Ness is at this Paragon place. If not and he's not even on this planet then that part of my journey may of been a waste. Still not the end of the world since not the only reason I'm here but still."

Cedrick was a attractive woman, but as she was taken already and by none the less one of his good friends he didn't think anything more on it.

He sat down to make himself comfortable. "It sounded important so I made some time. What did you wish to discuss with me?"

Cedrick was her own woman would be the one who decided if she was 'taken' or not. She sits as well "First of all, would you like anything to drink?" she asks "I have a feeling that what I am about to tell you, will leave you a little dry in the mouth."

"Just some tea or something would be fine." Espen said politely to the young woman. As for things with Calvine and Cedrick, while he could guess he didn't one hundred percent know and at the moment it didn't matter as much. Whatever the news was didn't seem pleasant but then that was natural in this type of game.

Cedrick nodded "Lightly sweetened peach tea." she says as a glass of tea materialized on Cedrick's desk. She quite enjoyed showing off her desktop replicator.

She pulls out a data padd "What I am about to show you is very sensitive and could, potentially, start a panic if it were to be made public knowledge." she warns. But she knows that, being a lawyer, he's bound by client confidentiality, should he take on her case.

She slides the padd over to Espen "I have made personal contact with several extraterrestrial governments im an attempt to form a coalition of allies who can come to our aid, and us to theirs, should we need it. As well as trade agreements with the various species for goods and resources." she explains.

"The problem is, I need to bring this information to the United Nations and I fear I do not have nearly as much influence to talk them into joining me in this United Federation of Planets." she says in a low tone "And I would like you to help me usher in a new age for Earth and her people."

This was surprising news for the man after guessing what she might of wanted to discuss with him about things. He knew other life was out there if nothing else due to the invasions but he had never thought about it much further at length due to Noreal's current level.

"I see." He said, thinking. "While I'm not sure how much help I'd be I'll gladly help in anyway I can. As for the news, I of course won't say anything."

Cedrick nods "There is one other matter I wish to discuss with you." she starts "If it is not a bother, I wish to hire your law firm's services and put you on Paragon Corp's payroll, as our own private law firm." she offers "You can, of course, take new clients. Your services are needed by many and I will not deny them that help." she says "I am prepared to offer you a very generous retainer fee."
