Loose Ends

Jason shrugs "Don't know..." he says, which was a lie "We'll have to see how things turn out when we get there." he says as he walks over to Hiroshi "Ready to go?" he asks, holding out a hand.

Hiroshi didn't believe that, but Jason must of had Something in mind or there be no point. Still he accepted without any more fanfare. "Ready when you are."

Morning comes rolling around and Taki was up and getting ready for school. Suki was still asleep. Taki was unsure how to really feel about this whole situation, they both liked the same guy, but she didn't know how they could both have a happy ending.

On the one hand, Hiroshi has had a thing for Suki since they were little, but the most they had done was kiss a few times, while on the other hand, Taki and Hiroshi had Actually gone all the way, granted it was because she thought she was gonna die the next day, but even still, a girl's first time was suppose to be special, and it was for her.

Taki gets get uniform on and heads down stairs to cook breakfast and get their lunches ready *Fumitsuki will wake up when she smells food, like usual.* she thinks as she ties her apron on. She just wished she had someone to talk to about this situation, but no one came to mind at the moment. Which meant, she would need to make this decision on her own.

Taki heads to school, with Suki *This is slightly awkward...* she thinks as both her and her sister were walking in silence *Come on, say Something!* she thinks, but the silence continued...

It took entirely Too damn long for them to get to school, where Sarah and Lara were waiting for her. Sarah no longer felt the need to wear a hat to hide her horns or keep her wings hidden from anyone, any longer "Hey Taki. Welcome back. How are you healing up?" the young Oni asks.

Suki seemed a bit surprised to find out that Sarah wasn't Human, but she didn't say anything, as it would be rude to do so.

Taki nods "Yeah, I'm almost 100% now. Those Hunter doctors really know their stuff." she says as she flexes her hand "Though, they say I'll always have Some lingering pain. Especially in cold weather." she mumbles.

Lara was quiet, which was a surprise for an American, and she seemed, slightly upset about something, as she wasn't talking or looking Taki in the eye.

As the three of them get out of school, Lara says she has to head back home right away and Sarah had a Hunter escort waiting for her, which just left Taki and Suki, which was a Little awkward.

"S-so, uh, did you want to get something to eat? My treat." she says, trying to break the silence between the two.

Taki knew what her sister was trying to do, extend an olive branch and you know what? Taki was okay with that. However, they could talk all they wanted about what to do about the current situation, but ultimately it was Hiroshi's choice.

As the two of them were heading to the fast food chain, a Young Man walks over to them "Excuse me, but would you, by chance, be Izumi Fumitsuki?" he asks.

Taki had to admit, he was nice looking, but Hiroshi was better, in her opinion.

Suki nods "Y-yes. I'm Fumitsuki. Who, might I ask, are you?" she asks

He flashes a smile at her "My name's Luke and I've come to win your hand in marriage." he says, sounding pretty confident in himself.

Suki looked shocked, confused, and surprised all at once "W-what? Marriage? Huh?"

*Yeah, that just about covers it...* Taki thinks as she was more than a bit surprised herself.

"Allow me to explain..." Luke starts "News of your fearless, and numerous, battles had reached me from some friends I know who live here on Earth and slowly, I found myself becoming enamored with you, until word reached me of your, unfortunate and untimely, passing." he says "So I came here to see if the rumors were true and I must say, I'm quite relieved to find they weren't. But I won't let this chance of a lifetime pass me up once again." he states.

Seeing as Suki was at a loss for words, which happened when she got flustered, Taki figured it was time to bail her sister out "Um, a few things: Suki is no longer Nixa and isn't fighting baddies anymore, I am. Also, you said 'Here on Earth', which would imply you're not From this planet... so where Are you from?" she asks.

Luke nods "Of course. I should have said so from the beginning. I'm a Farian from Noreal. One of my friends, the one who told me about you, is a Mystic who hails from Elysium. He tells me such grand stories about Earth and all the strange and unusual happenings on here." he says with a boyish grin "So, thinking you may need help, I came to your aid and to win your hand and heart."

Jason and Hiroshi reappear at his apartment "Well, they should be showing up at your place in a little bit..." he holds out a small badge looking thing to Hiroshi "You'll likely be needing this. You can find more of them at Paragon Corp. It's a Universal Translator, because aside from Ra, his wife and daughter only speak Arabic." he points out.

He takes a step back, regards Hiroshi for a moment "You know, I don't think I can just leave you here, like this, with guests on the way and only your little earnings from the Hunters..." he holds out a silver credit card "There's about eleven million Yen on that card. It should be more than enough to get them on their feet." he says before giving Hiroshi a two finger salute, then disappearing again.

Suki was, to say, a bit overwhelmed by this Luke guy. He shows up suddenly, then professes his intent to win her hand and heart? This was a little Too much for her at the moment "I, uh, I think I need to sit down for a moment." she says as she makes her way to a café.

Luke was right with her "Of course. As much as I intend to win you over, I don't plan on doing it Right now. I want you to get to know me first. After all, we Both barely know anything about each other." he says as he goes to help her.

But Taki was There all of the sudden "Okay, lover boy, you've rattled my sister enough for the moment." she says, blocking his advances "I think it's best if you give her some space... Like on the other side of the road. Maybe down the block and across the city while you're at it." she says in a stern tone.

Hiroshi was really excited to meet Ra and his family like this and he was more then willing to let them stay until they all got on their feet; besides he wouldn't mind the company. All he could do now, for the moment, was wait. He and Ra had plenty of things to talk about.

It wasn't long before the sky got dark and cloudy, as if a storm was moving in, but it was clear and sunny just a few seconds ago and a minuet later, everything clears up "Hiroshi? What's going..." a voice starts from behind the Farian, but trailed off.

behind Hiroshi, was Ra-Mei-Ni-Ouro, his daughter Meri-S-Ankh, and an unknown woman who could only be Ra's Beautiful Wife.

Ra give the two big hugs "Ta-Ament, Meri, 'antuma hunaa! kayf yakun hdha mumkina?" he asks.

The young woman looks around, a bit confused and slightly afraid by what she's seeing "zawj , ma hdha almakan? 'ayn nahn?" she asks, holding her daughter close.

The former Obliterator holds her hand "takun ealaa alsalam. nahn aminun hana. 'akthar 'amanana mimma kunna ealayh min qabla.." he says in a soothing voice.

Meri, who was looking over to Hiroshi this whole time, looks over to Ra "baba , man hu hdha alrajul hunak?" she asks.

Ra looks back to Hiroshi and smiles "'iinah sadiqiu aleaziz , hirushi. 'azunu 'anana nushakiruh ealaa 'iieadat tawhidina.

Suki was sitting at the café, drinking some hot tea, calming her nerves "Is, is he still there?" she asks, hazarding a glance out the window, seeing Luke on the other side of the road "Oh my God! He's still there..." she says, covering her eyes and looking away.

Taki sighs "Why don't you tell him that you're spoken for? I'm sure he'll get the hint if you say that Hiroshi is your boyfriend." she points out.

Suki shakes her head "But he's not... and he likely never will be." she mumbles "He doesn't have romantic feelings for me anymore. He hadn't for a while now... if anything, he likely has strong feelings for you." she says, looking at her sister.

Taki blinks in confusion, then something comes to mind "Oh! Uh, that was a one time thing... I thought I was gonna Die, okay?" she says in an exasperated tone "I mean, Sure it was something that I had been thinking about for a good while, but, the timing never seemed right. Besides, he was Yours to have, not mine." she says, feeling herself starting to panic a bit.

Suki shakes her head "Well, not anymore... I, suppose, I just have to accept it and move on, like he did." she mumbles.

Taki frowns "Hang on, how do you even Know all this?" she asks "I never told you and I seriously doubt Hiroshi did either." she points out.

Suki was starring off into her tea "Jason Winters told me everything after I came back. You were still unconscious and he said I needed to be brought up to speed on events that would directly affect me." she says in a low tone.

Hiroshi fiddled with the badge. to make sure it was working properly but the scene made him feel really good. "It's good to see you Ra, hopefully this thing is working. Mind introducing me? We have a lot to catch up on and I'll explain everything."

Ra walks over to Hiroshi and gives him a hug "How are you, my friend?" he asks as he motions for his wife and daughter to come closer "Allow me to introduce my wife Ta-Ament and my daughter Meri-S-Ankh. Both are the light of my life." he says with a big smile on his face "And This..." he says to his family "Is my good friend Hiroshi Johnson. As I said before, I suspect he was the one who had brought us all together again." he says.

Meri takes a step towards "Hello there. Thank you for reuniting us." she says, before going back to her mother.

Ra was still smiling "Come on now. There's no need to be afraid. We're in a strange place, sure, but all will be explained." he assure them.

Meri looks around "Father, why is it so noisy and why does the air feel... bad?" she asks.

Ra nods "Why don't we go inside and I can explain what's happened?" he suggests.

Taki didn't really know how to handle this situation. On the one hand, she Really wanted to run away from it. Let others figure things out. But on the other, her sister needed her and Suki came when Taki needed her.

She sighs, she saw no good way out of this situation "Hey, unless you hear it from Hiroshi himself, I wouldn't put Too much stock into what that Jason fellow says." she points out.

She jumps up suddenly "Excuse me one moment!" she hisses as she storms out, seeing Luke crossing the road to come over to them.

Hiroshi opened the door to let the group behind them. He did wonder why Ra's family wasn't more up to speed or so it seemed. In the After Life wouldn't they have ran into people from modern times? Then again he couldn't pretend to know how the After Life worked exactly.

"I wished you back to life by something called the Dragonballs and you two are currently in a city called Tokyo." Hiroshi glanced to Ra. "I'm not sure how much you guys know about this time but any questions we'll try to answer."

Both ladies looked confused "Tokyo is in another kingdom, far from Egypt... it's close to China." he points out "In the Asias, to the East."

He explains. This gets a nod from Ta-Ament, who seemed to have a general idea where they were. But Meri was still confused.

Ra sighs a bit "There's, more. I'm afraid. We not only moved in location, but time as well..." he mumbles "We've moved, over three thousand years from the time we were..." he figured it was best to lump himself with his family.

Ta-Ament looked shocked "But, that's not possible." she says.

Ra places a calming hand on his wife's shoulder "My love, with these orbs, the word 'Impossible' does not exist. Otherwise, we all wouldn't be here, together." in a soft voice "Worry not, I shall help you both adjust." be assures.

After about five minuets, Taki comes walking back in "Wow. That guy doesn't know how to take a hint." she says as she sits back down "You'd almost think Hiroshi and him were from totally different races, from the way they act." she says.

She focuses on her sister "Yen for your thoughts?" she asks. Suki didn't seem to be doing too well at the moment, and a thought was starting to form in her head.

Suki shrugs "I, don't know what I'm gonna do now... before, things got all screwy, I had a clear goal in mind. Graduate from high school, ask Hiroshi out, we go to college together, marry him after we graduate, I'll be a stay at home wife and later mother, Hiroshi would  take care of us. I would make our daughter the next Nixa..." she explains.

She, then, looks over to Taki "And now, my dream is quickly becoming your dream..." she looks back to the table "Maybe... I should, head into space and, check out where I'm from... I got a little of it from my biological family... I don't know..." she mumbles.

As much as he was happy currently, Hiroshi knew that were that nagging in the back of his head a bit of what Jason said. Obviously he liked Taki a lot, but that said he of course didn't want Suki to vanish into the either in space where they may never see them again. He wasn't sure their mother could take it upon finding out and them wondering if they ever see them again.

Meh. He'd ask Ra for advice about it later. Why did emotions have to make everything complicated? But not at this point just now, Ra had waited so long for this and he deserved this moment without a interruption. In the end though, he did see them more as a father figure.

Hiroshi nodded. "He will, and better then I would. I'm not sure how the After Life worked for you guys, but it has be pretty confusing." It seemed one of them was more in the loop then the other which was rather curious.

Not so much, considering Meri was still just a child and it was likely her mother onew more about the world. Ra, of course, still knew everything he once did, which was over three thousand years of knowledge "When you two are ready, I will take you out to see this new world." he says.

He moves away from his family and motions for Hiroshi to come over, he had something important to say. Once in the other room, Ra looks to Hiroshi "Before we do Anything, we need to get booster and immune shots for me and my family..." he says in a low tone "They didn't have any kind of vaccinations in our time... not like we have now. We also need to see about one of those data padds, that way Ta-Ament and Meri can get caught up on the last three thousand years... perhaps the Hunters could help?" he suggests.

Taki frowns at that idea "I think, that's a terrible idea. I mean, why would you want to know anything about a culture that sent a baby to a violent planet like Earth?" she asks "I mean, it's Possible that they died in a spaceship crash and you were the only survivor, but that seems unlikely, simce there was Nothing about a spaceship sighting seventeen years ago." she points out.

Taki shakes her head "Besides, I would miss you. I just got you back, and it wasn't easy to do so, either. I'm not ready to lose you again, just because you maybhave lost your dream." she says "Life is often times a disappointment, in that if one dream goes up in smoke, make another one. So maybe Hiroshi isn't who you'll end up with, maybe it this Luke fellow, as cringy as that might be, it could even be a lady you end up with." she points out "If I recall, that Christine girl was pretty good looking, if you're into that sort of thing."

Hiroshi could see that making perfect sense, and the Hunters could definitely help considering they were more involved in mundane things these days. "Will do. I could talk to them about setting something up for you guys to get some sort of ID since you'll need it; not the first time they dealt with people coming back to life even if people back from long ago is a first. I was thinking of getting more of those badges to translate for the two of them. I'm gonna head out to take care of it and stock some food, you need anything else?"

Ra looks over to his family "Normally, I'd say I have all I need..." he says, then looks at himself, then smiles at Hiroshi "But some new clothes would be nice."

Suki shakes her head "Um, no... I'm not into girls, I don't think." she says.

Taki nods slowly "That's fine. My point is, you don't Need to hold put for any One person. You're young, you're powerful, you're beautiful. You just need the confidences to strut your stuff." she points out.

She looks out the window, Luke was still waiting for them to finish up talking before he comes back over to try and won Suki over.

"I can handle that too.." Hiroshi paused, thinking. "Hey I know with your family back and everything else you probably want nothing more to kick back and relax. But that said we both know earth and in particular Japan can be very dangerous with the crazies. Do you want me to see about getting you a weapon? Your skill still carries over if nothing else."

Ra shakes his head "My love, I shall step outside with Hiroshi for but a moment. I shall return with haste." he says as he heads outside.

Once outside, he looks around "I don't know how or why, but I still have the darkness within me... Only now, it's different. Because the Obliterator it no more and I am in full control." he says in a low tone to Hiroshi.

Suki thinks for a bit "Maybe... You're right. If I did go to space somehow and to my home world, I'd be running away and to what?" she asks "I know no one on my home planet..."

Taki places a hand on Suki's shoulder "That place is your Birth planet, your Home planet, is right here. With your family." she says with a warm smile to her sister.

"Those words were well said, little sister." Luke says with a nod. He was standing by the two of them, which was drawing strange looks from the people in the cafe.

Hiroshi was a bit surprised by that. "Really? That's strange. Maybe it has something to do with winning your internal struggle." He remembered the talks they had, it made some sense. Perhaps after winning it was truly just apart of him now?

As they continued to the Hunter HQ, he decided. ".I've been meaning to ask. What made you decide to do what you did for Taki?"

Ra shakes his head "This may be hard to believe, but the Obliterator and myself were two completely different people." he explains "It was the Obliterator who decided to help your young friend."

Taki turns to Luke "What the hell, dude? I thought I told you to keep away." she grumbles.

Luke nods "You did, and I respected your space. I have only come here to give you this..." he says as he places a paper on the table. It was an address "I shall be staying on Earth for a bit. I do hope to get to know in that time." he says as he starts back out.

Taki watches him leave. He wasn't Too bad looking, but he was Way too direct for her liking and while Some women liked that, Taki wasn't one of them, but Suki was.

Hiroshi mentally nodded, if he saw Jason again maybe he would ask he would have but there were a million things on his mind. Did that mean they had seperate souls? "Something for the books then. Speaking of, kind of in a slight pickle. So, basically Suki ended up coming back due Taki succeeding in her spell. Jason had said she'd leave if things didn't turn out since I like Taki but it depends and have faith Suki wouldn't ditch her home and family or just be talked out of it."

"I guess, getting to the point Taki seems to like me too but not sure how to approach things, Jason mentioned at the moment they don't intend to pursue anything. I don't want to put too much pressure and make them bolt, but don't want to be too passive either. "

Ra thinks for a bit "The best thing to do, is to tale a step back from the situation and weigh all your possible options and the likely outcomes." he says "If young Taki isn't ready for anything, then you are free to pursue other avenues." he points out "Do not let the words of one man persuade your future, as I had."

Taki watches him to leave, but she could tell that Suki's gaze was lingering a bit longer "Come on, sis. We have a lunch to go to." she says.

Hiroshi supposed that made sense. "Thanks for the advice. I'm honestly not as worried about it anymore either way it turns out. One thing I've learned is not to get stuck on one person or put all your eggs in one basket. Rejection and getting back up is apart of life."

"Anyway, you're probably already thinking but with all your skill and knowledge it shouldn't be Too hard to find a employment for you." hiroshi reasoned. "Once its settled anyway. Not sure if your shadow powers are as strong as they were or stronger. Probably worth checking out later this evening. I'm trying to improve what I have and I have a goal in mind even if sounds crazy: I want to become one of the strongest Hunters ever, at least in the top ten."

Ra nods "A lofty goal, to be sure. I have little doubt that you will achieve it one day. But it's going to be a eough road and you May have to actually join the Hunters to reach it, instead of being a freelancer." he points out.

He thinks for a moment "As for my future, I was thinking about being a history teacher. I have a feeling that I would do well in that profession." he says with a smile. Most of those events, he had actually lived through.

Hiroshi knew that was a possibility, he also knew it was a comittment which is why he'd have to think on it. He Did want to settle down one day and have a family and he wasn't sure if it was something he could balance. Maybe he talk to some of those who had been there a long enough time about it. "If nothing else if I don't go that route, I at least want to be able to say I did my best. Just 'good enough' isn't well, good enough for me anymore. I'm gonna let you go so I can get stuff taken care of and get the food. I shouldn't be gone too long."

It be interesting back at HQ, dead people had come back before but not people from that far back.
