Battles From Far Beyond

"I know. Disagreements and fights are part of relationships, platonic or not. but thanks for cheering me up." He really did mean that as he gave them a brief hug.. "We should get you to school, but been wanting to ask something. If one of your kind book gets burned, does it harm you? I think you said it just sends them home."

Cassia nods, having been reminded that as mature as she sometimes acts, she is still a child and has much to learn. The young Mamodo nods "That's what I was told. Well, I was told a few things. One, our books get burned and we go home. Two, our books get burned and we Die. And Three, our books get burned and we become Human." she says "Though, the first two seem more plausible." she says with a shrug.

After Tracy gets out of the shower and dressed, Dysis and Cassia had already left. She gets her coat on and heads out. The first place she goes, is to get some more coffee. The second place is the Last Maiden. She needed to talk to the three people who use guns there. Danny, Devin, and Mathilda. She would likely talk to Danny or Devin first. They use more restraint than Mathilda, from what she heard.

Danny looks up from his computer, which he constantly is dogging on for being primitive when compared to what he use to use in Hyrule. "Hey kiddo. Long time." he says as he goes back to work "What brings you in today?" he asks.

Tracy was just a little nervous about this for some reason "Um, I, uh, I would like to talk to you about getting... a g-gun... for protection. You know, m-maybe like a stun gun? O-or something..." she mumbles the last part.

Dying seemed the most plausible, if simply because otherwise people that didn't want to be here would be letting their book be burned on purpose. It was incredibly fucked up such a contest even started. One could say what you wanted about the Shokan's and their Mortal Kombat blood sport, but at least they didn't force you to, never mind people around Cassia's age.

"It's best to play it cautious then." He said. "So do want to travel through shadows to get to school or the old fashion way?" They had been making it harder for stuff like that but because what he did, he had some liberty with it.

Devin wasn't there only because it being his day off, but Ava was there and instantly focused on Tracy. "We could get you one of those no problem hun. But how are you holding up?" She asked gently. Poor girl never got a break for long it seemed and it must of freaked them out.

Cassia thinks for a moment. They were going to a Hunter school and Dysis Was a Hunter, so they Should let him travel through the shadows, unlike most who can. And it Would be safer and faster. However, she didn't really like the dark so...

She shakes her head "No. Let's walk." she says. She knew that Dysis knew that she didn't"t like the dark and that he was only offering for her protection.

Tracy shrugs "I'm hanging in there." she says, knowing that they knew she was in a stable place from where she was "Dysis said I needed a way to defend myself and some times defense classes just won't cut it. Which I why I want to see about a stun gun." she says.

Danny nods and opens his desk and pulls out a Stun Gun and sets it on the top of his desk "Here ya go, Kiddo." he says "Just take the safety off, point and squeeze the trigger. It's sure to drop just about anyone." he says as he puts a couple of extra cartridges on his desk as well.

Dysis was fine with that and silently got up to lead the young girl back to school. If she wanted to do things the old fashion way then he was fine with it, he'd just have to be careful. In all honesty he'd be fine if they called the school day off considering.

"Do you want me or someone else to try to help you in a shooting range?" Ava asked after. "That way you'll have a lot more accuracy for who you hit in a pinch."

Tracy shakes her head "Oh, um, no thank you. I mean, it's pretty self-explanatory. Point and pull the trigger. The barbs will go in the direction you're pointing." she says "They usually have a distance of about fifteen to twenty feet, so I'll need to be decently close to use it properly." she tells them.

Danny nods "That's our girl. Always on top of whatever she sets her mind to." he says, still not looking up from his report "If you need any extra cartridges just let me know." he tells her.

"Seems you have it figured it out mostly already. Do you need help with anything else before you leave then?" Probably not, but Ava had to ask the young woman just in case anyway.

Tracy shakes her head as she put the stun gun into her bag "N-no. I think I can figure things out for now..." she says "But if I need any help in the future I'll be sure to call." she says as she waves to them before heading out.

Danny frowns as he watches the young woman leave "Her hands were starting to shake again..." he mumbles "I'll have to ask Dysis to make sure she's taking her anxiety meds." he says as he goes back to his report.

Ava agreed to that, although it was more the other things she was worried about to. Like if the attack would be more a regular thing or more a one off sort of deal. "Yeah..although I am worried about these attacks there isn't much we can do about but keep a eye out." Crazier idea would be someone to go to said world and force them to call the games out. Not that was going to happen, for multiple reasons.

Tracy gets back to her apartment, closing the door and locking the door as she heads to the kitchen table and sits down, trying to calm herself down. It was only Half way working. She gets up and grabs a glass of water and drinks it slowly. She starts to breath easier and her hands weren't shaking as much.

She takes a deep breath. She knew Why she needed to keep her memories of that knight, she was the key witness, but she still hated every moment of these memories. She gets up *A nap should help...* she thinks as she heads to the bedroom. She strips down to her underwear and lays in bed. Her and Dysis had gone from living together, to sleeping together. They Still hadn't done anything outside of touching each other, she was saving herself for after they got married, if that ever happened. Tracy closes her eyes and drifts off to sleep *must have been... more tired than I thought...* she thinks as she falls asleep.

Dysis had also come back by then, nothing thankfully out of the ordinary happened after the fact so he was pretty grateful for it. When he was going to relax and laydown, he saw Tracy was knocked out for the time being in her underwear which was a nice view.

Still he behaved himself as he respected Tracy's choice to want to wait until they were married. In the mean time, he got himself more comfortable after taking a shower and getting in a shirt and shorts before wrapping his arm around her waist as he cuddled against them doing his best not to wake them up before drifting off to sleep himself.

Hours later, Tracy wakes up, feeling even more tired. She sees Dysis laying next to her and feels her face turning red! Sure they've seen each other naked before and even fooled around and sleep together, but that doesn't make this any less embarrassing.

She carefully slides out of his embrace and throws a dress on to quickly cover herself. She looks at the time and decides to go and pick Cassia up. She made sure to carry her stungun with her, just incase she runs into those two creeps again. She leaves a note for Dysis that lets him know where she's going.

Dysis found to his disapointment Tracy was already gone. Even after all this time and things they did, she was still oddly shy at times. Maybe just something that needed more time. He frowned slightly at the note, wishing they had gotten him up. He didn't expect them to put everything on hold but considering how recent things were it was better safe then sorry.

He got dressed and decided he'd go catch up with them as a also just in case.

Tracy hadn't gotten Too far. She only made it as far as the bus stop before Dysis could catch up with her. She was looking at her phone when she glances up and sees him. She blinks in surprise, putting her phone away as she walks over to meet him "Dysis, what are you doing here?" she asks "I thought you were home resting." she says, which Obviously wasn't the case, but that was just the sort of goofy thing Tracy would say.

"I was, but didn't last long." He said as he came over. "I wasn't sure if I'd catch your or not before you got far but glad I did."

Tracy blinks in confusion "Why? Is there something wrong?" she asks, then it dawns on him why he wanted to catch up to her "O-oh. It's about this morning..." she says "He was only after Cassia and since she isn't with me at the moment, I don't think they'll attack." she says, reasonably confident in her logic "But since you're here, you can take over our escort back." she says as she takes him by his arm.

That was mostly true, but since Tracy was apparently a book holder and depending how ruthless these people were, she'd be a prime target to. They had no qualms attacking a kid that young that didn't even want to fight, so he wasn't exactly banking on them having much moral qualms. Still, he kept it to themselves for now.

He gave her hand a squeeze. "At least we don't have to worry about them while at school. I'm wondering if most of the holders are known to the Hunters, or many are off the grid. It would kinda help to know just in case, I'll have to ask about it."

Tracy shrugs "I don't know. I wouldn't think they would be known. If they were, then I don't think I would have been attacked out of the blue like that." she says. She liked holding onto Dysis's arm, more than holding hands at the moment. She didn't need a comforting hand to hold, she needed a strong arm to support her.

"You think so, but resources are limited and the New York branch in particular is kind of short handed." He mumbled. "I guess it doesn't matter for now. I'm just glad you two are ok."

Tracy nods "Something to look into later." she says. It wasn't long before they get to the Hunter school.

Cassia was with that Jinn boy again and when she sees them, she excuses herself and rushes over to them "Tracy, Dysis!" she says as she comes to a stop "Toby invited us over to his place for dinner!" she says, excitedly "His big brother agreed and said we'll be having something called chicken curry and rice!" she says, her frost blue eyes were full of excitement "Can we go? Pleeeaaassseee?"

Dysis had a hard time saying no to Cassia to begin with, and he really didn't see a problem with it. Cassia needed friends to hang out with around her age. "I don't have a problem with it. Tracy?"

Tracy shrugs "I don't have a problem with it either." she says "Go ahead and tell him we would be delighted to come over for dinner." she says with a reassuring smile. And Cassia, with a big grin, runs back over to Toby.

Tracy couldn't help but smile at that "She likes him, you know." she says to Dysis "Our little girl is growing up so fast. Soon they'll be dating and you'll have to have 'The Talk' with her." she teases as she lightly elbows him. Tracy would be Way to embarrassed to have Any kind of 'Talk' with anyone about Anything.

By that time, Dysis had confidence she'd be able to talk about things like that if she wanted. She already had come a long way, and years from now he was confident she fully grow out of that by then. Or at least mostly. "Not looking forward to that, but someone has to do it. Still, we got some years before then and when she grows up. It'll be here before we know it though."

Cassia comes bouncing back over "Okay! He said he would send me a text with the time and address." she says with a grin.

Tracy nods "Alrighty. Let's head home and see about getting ready." she says as Cassia takes ahold of Dysis's other arm and holds onto it. Tracy readjusting her grip so that she was holding his other arm.

This was overall pretty nice, he had some of the most important people to him around him. The only Real downer was those people that were after Cassia but they figure a way out of it. "So, how did your school day go?" He asked Cassia, having a bit of small talk.
