Laying Low

Devin knew that was more then a fair point, he hadn't really planned on simply rushing in to begin with as eager as he was to catch this unknown person. "On that, we both agree. We've been here more then long enough."

Back at the office the others were likely going to be confused who he was until it was cleared up what was going on.

Most everyone was there. Han was standing over by the water cooler, Aki wasn't too far away, which meant that Oka was in the storage closet, Kyoko and Chelsea were looking over some of their other case, and Mathilda was sitting on the couch, looking bored.

If Kyoko was there then that meant the others likely already knew what was going on and he didn't have to explain to much of anything which was good. He really couldn't wait until he didn't have to use this disguise anymore. Still he approached Han just in case. [color=white"Hey Han. Did Kyoko explain what was going on?"[/color]

Han nods "Yes. She said you got in trouble and sent a shadow clone to take your place until things got figured out." he explains "So how does the hunt go, gentlemen?" he asks.

Danny shrugs, as he always does "We got some decent evidence. Now we just need to go over it." he says as he moves some things off his desk (mainly empty bottles] "Okay, this is gonna look a bit odd, but I'm actually doing work. So try not to bother me." he says as he sits, puts on some sunglasses and claps his hands and starts making motions as if he was looking through something.

Devin was thinking a bit to himself, and he went over to the young Umbra Witch who was easy on the eyes as usual. "I was wondering if you wanted to tag along if we end confronting the killer. We still don't know what they can do, but you have the ability to stay out of sight unless you need to step in without tipping them off more if there's three unknown people coming to him." It was up to him but if things went sideways it was better safe then sorry. Plus the young woman looked bored with nothing to do.

He'd have to thank Oka once she wasn't hiding and it settled down a bit since she had been trying to help earlier with her ability.

Mathilda thinks for bit "Well, I suppose it beats just sitting around." she says, still on her phone. She had an idea of what Devin was talking about. Using her connection to Paradiso to get the drop on the psychopath.

Danny was still looking through files, doing actual detective work for once. But then, Danny always did detective work, just, not at the office.

There was a startled scream from the storage closet, and the sound of things falling over. It was Oka. Something scared her, she jumped and knocked stuff over.

She comes peaking out of the closet, rubbing her head "Elizabeth is back." she says.

Devin was about to respond when he he heard Oka scream and was instantly on alert as he went to check on them but as it turned out there was no need for them to worry as Oka was perfectly fine when he came over. In fact it turned out to be their ghostly guest again.

"You scared me for a second when you screamed, glad its nothing." Devn started. "So Elizabeth came back huh? Is she trying to talk to you now?"

"Oh wow. She is in real bad shape." Han says, staring behind Devin "She's saying something, but I don't have much experience talking to ghosts, so it's hard for me to understand her." he says.

Oka was peeking out of the storage room door "N-no... it's not you. She doesn't have enough energy. But she's saying something is gone, but I can't make it out." she says.

"And she's gone again..." Han says as he blinks, rubbing his eyes. It seemed seeing ghosts, for him, took some concentration.

The front door opens and Cassia comes walking in. She must have walked from school to here "Hello everyone." she says.

Kyoko looks over to the young Mamodo "Hey there kiddo. Where's Tracy? She usually picks you up from school." she says.

Cassia shrugs "I don't know. She wasn't at the Hunter school to pick me up. I waited, but she didn't show up. So I sent her a text letting her know I would be here." she explains.

Something clicked in Devin then, but he really hoped it he was wrong. Cassia came back, but where the hell was Ava? It did confirm something once more that trouble seemed to follow Tracy, too much to be a coincidence.

"That's odd. We'll go look into it, sure its nothing." Devin reassured the young girl but inwardly he was incredibly worried. "Where is the last time you saw them?"

Cassia thinks "She dropped me off at school and said she had some classes to go to and... that was it. That was the last time I saw her today." she says.

Devin nodded a bit as he sent a text to Ava about things, which she surprisingly or not quickly got back saying she thought Tracy was just at school after escorting her there.

"All right, well that is something. Gimme a moment and feel free to relax while you're here." He said with a reassuring smile before he motioned for Kyoko to follow them a bit away from the child. "How good would you say you are at tracking?" He figured her background she'd be the best fit for it.

Kyoko frowns a bit "In a urban environment? Probably not as good as I should be." she whispers back to Devin "Get me in a rural location, they are top notch."

Danny claps his hands with a sigh "Get me something of Tracy's. We go hunting tonight." he says.

Han stand and heads towards the door "I'll see what I can do. Maybe call in a few favors." he says as he heads out.

Cassia was pretty confused about what was going on. Kyoko looks from.the young girl, to Devin "I'll watch over her." she says in a low tone.

Devin didn't like this case had become a bit more personal to his liking. Who knows what the hell that creep was doing with her..assuming she was alive but he pushed those thoughts away to focus on the task at hand "Right. I'll hold you to it."


This day kept getting better and better.

Kyoko leads Cassia out, to take her home so the others could speak freely. Aki walks over to Devin "I'm going as well." she says, leaving no room for argument.

Danny sighs "Okay. But the fewer people we bring, the less likely we are to be noticed." he points out.

"I'm coming too!" Oka says, suddenly "I-I mean, Tracy's my friend and, and I want to help her." she mumbles.

"So, are we going to assume that Tracy has been nicked by this serial killer?" she asks "If that is the case, that would mean he grabbed her at college. If nothing else, this Could suggest that he attends the same school as her." she points out.

"More or less." Devin said. "It's a bit too much of a coincidence. Elizabeth comes back to talk to Oka, mentions something is gone and then poof Tracy goes missing. It doesn't help Ava and Tracy felt some sort of evil presence prior to all this. So my guess is either they lured them somewhere with no witnesses acting perfectly friendly and normal, or they struck when she was alone in the college."

He turned to Oka. "You keep saying Elizabeth was in bad shape, what did her wounds look like?"

Oka fidgets a bit, not really liking to be on the spotlight "W-well, um, she was a vampire... s-so she has, uh, a hole i-in her chest, where her heart is... her hands are... um, w-well... they look like they've been s-smashed by a hammer... she had cuts and bruises... all over her body... oh! a-and she was naked..." she mumbles the last part.

"I see..I really don't like the implications of the last part.." Devin mumbled not liking the implications. So this person had somehow or the other likely knew what Elizabeth was which implied some knowledge on the supernatural. Most worrying was the last part of being naked, which meant there was a strong chance he may have forced himself on her as well. He didn't want to think of that especially with Tracy but he doubted he was the only one that thought of that.

Ava came back before too long. "I came with a thing or two of Tracy's that hopefully will work.." She sounded a bit more subdued then normal, obviously feeling guilty about Tracy's dissperance even though she couldn't be around 24/7.

Danny takes the article of clothing. It was Tracy's night shirt. She usually wore it when she slept or had a day off and stayed in.

Danny nods "Okay, you five do what you need to, to get ready. With so many of us, we'll stand out a bit traveling in a group." he says.

"Fu-fu-fu..." Mathilda chuckles "We can take as many as we wish if we all, save for you, travel through Purgatorio." she says with a sly grin on her face.

Turned out hiring a Umbra Witch did have some advantages besides being power house. "Yeah forgot about that. That will make traveling easier..provided we don't catch any attention on that side of things."

Mathilda waves a hand "Oh tish-tosh." She says "If we do, I'll simply boot everyone out and take care of them." she says.

Danny frowns slightly, before looking to everyone "Okay, everyone who's coming, get ready. We leave at night fall." he says.

Devin was definitely going, Ava was going to stay simply because she felt the crowd of people was too big to begin with. It didn't mean however she wasn't going to do her own thing from the outside.

Oka frowns a bit "B-but why do we need to wait? Tracy could be in trouble now!" she says, getting upset.

Aki places a hand on her sister's shoulder "They need time to get ready. We have no idea what we'll be facing." she says, calming her sister.

Danny nods "That, and I can track much better at night, then during the day." he says as he heads out to get ready.

Devin couldn't deny he wanted to go right at this very moment as the longer time dragged on, the worse chances of Tracy being ok came to be. He had a suspciion their target wasn't human. Human's, even really bad ones typically didn't give off really bad evil vibes like the ones Tracy and Ava felt. It could be just a human with some powers but he was thinking less likely as time went on.

Danny had put Tracy's night shirt in a ziplock bag, so as to not lose the scent. He heads to his apartment to grab a few essentials that he feels they would need.

As night time falls in the Big Apple, those who were going along show up at the office. Aki, Oka, Mathilda. Danny comes walking in. He had his trench coat and fedora hat on, as well as a bag of various items. He looks at everyone "Are we set?" he asks.

Mathilda makes a circular motion with her hand and a Sigil the size of a person appears. The space behind it was rippling slightly "Well, all aboard, everyone." she says as she heads in.

Devin silently went inside, he was hoping they be able to find Tracy and as soon as possible before the crazy did anything to them. He, it, or whatever it was he'd make sure they regret messing with one of the Last Maiden's own.
