One Step At A Time

The trip Devin and Elizabeth had went on did so thankfully without a hitch. Transportation still was kinda a strange one using a transport since, at least from what little he knew how it worked. That said it wasn't the here or now.

When they arrived, they had a nice hotel and such ready for them. Having his girlfriend be loaded was a small bonus. In the evening time they would go visit Oka but what kind of shape she was in, he'd try not to dwell on it. Things he couldn't change weren't anything new.

Elizabeth needed to check in with the vampire family in charge of Tokyo, but since it was the middle of the day, she would need to wait to both see Oka and check in. So, they had some time to kill.

Devin wished they had left earlier but going by his math even if they had left right away it wouldn't have been night time on this side of the world. They would of had to choose a very specific time to get here and it be dark on this side of the world. It didn't seem like the Necro infusion gave them any resistance to the sunlight, or maybe it did and it was unknown. Not like either of them were going to test or play around with that.

"Sorry about not leaving earlier, would of made things a lot more convient for us both.." He looked around their relatively nice place they had settled down in. "Maybe bit of a movie marathon?"

Elizabeth sighs and shakes her head "No. I'm not in the mood..." she says as she looks at Devin with her big green eyes "She got Hurt because of Me. Because those creeps wanted Me. How can I face her knowing that I'm the reason she will never be normal again?" she asks

Devin went to take her hand and give it a squeeze. "You can't think like that. Because if you go down that rabbit hole, you'll start to piece together ripple effects of other things you did which lead to bad results. Because if we're being consistent with it and going along the same lines, then its also technically my fault. If I hadn't done what I had done, Oka would of still been at the Maiden with her sister, and might not have gotten hurt since she wasn't far away. They mostly just led people away. It was the people who attacked you at fault. No one elses."

"..Besides.." He began slowly. "While I don't want to get hopes up Too much, since it depends on many other things out of my control, there might be some way to help her." He was mainly thinking of a certain someone named Rodin. He Might know some way with how long been around, but he'd also have to read the fine print there wasn't some drawback. And even if he did, it be Aki's choice since she was their big sister.

"But if we're lucky, maybe they had a miracle recovery and she's perfectly fine? They didn't say the shape they were in, but again should keep expectations down."

Elizabeth was quiet for a bit "We need to find that guy who helped Tracy. Nedd was his name I think? If he could piece Tracy back together after the Mess she was in, he can do the same for Oka, right?"

"Ness. And probably." Devin replied. "The trouble is finding them, but that's kinda what my job is for so I'll have to look into it. Maybe Aki knows the last place he headed to. But last time I've heard he's famous in Noreal so might have to make a round trip there to see if I can find them if he's not here on earth somewhere."

Elizabeth thinks for a moment "Wait! Burger. Ness Burger. I remembered his last name because it sounded funny..." she says "He's the guy who made the Eternum system... which is a Paragon product... Which means Ness Burger works for Paragon Corps!" she points out "After I check in, we should go visit Paragon Corps."

Devin didn't see a issue with it. "Works for me. Definitely worth a shot of trying to see how it turns out." There was still the fact he had to be a busy man so getting a audience with them might not be the easiest but still worth a try. They Had been contacted with Cedrick before who ran the company so that was worth something at least.

Elizabeth nods "But first... We need to wait for nighttime, and I Need to try and get some sleep..." she says as she heads to the bedroom and takes her clothes off, stripping down to her panties and bra before laying on top of the bed, she writes out an address and a phrase and hands it to Devin "Can you go here and tell whomever is in charge that I will be over to respectfully pay them a visit to check in with them once the sun goes down?" she asks.

It was a nice view of Elizabeth when she came back, but right now wasn't the time or mood for it. Maybe some other time. Devin looked to the note and nodded. "I can do it right now then. I'll be back soon and if something unforseen comes up I'll let you know, but I'll give you a text of how things went regardless." He had never went to such places before and he wasn't sure what to expect.

Considering the daytime weakness, he assumed they had people worked for them that didn't have that issue, like a certain Mouse Demon they had met.

Elizabeth nods to him "Thank you, Devin. I'll see you tonight." she says as she closes her eyes and Tries to go to sleep, leaving Devin to explore.

"Later." Devin looked at the paper and decided no further time like the present. It was best to just get this over with the sooner the better. He did wonder how bad of shape Oka was in, it wasn't said but they would find out. Hopefully they would actually be able to get into contact with this Ness fellow but time would tell. He only met them once, like very briefly.

Devin gets to the location, and it was guarded by Wolf Demons. It seems the vampires here had ties with Koga. One moves in the way "Hold it. This location is off limits. Turn around and go Back the way you came." he tells Devin, his friend moving off to the side, incase a fight broke out they both wouldn't be sitting ducks.

Devin knew this was coming. "Easy. I'm just here to deliver a message from Elizabeth Hale she'll be here later tonight of who ever is in charge." He also gave the phrase she sent him, having making note to memorize it instead of having to look back at the card.

The wolf demons look at each other and relax a bit and knock on the door, which unlocks and opens. Inside was a Zoanthrope that looked like he was Juicing! "This way..." he rumbles, and you could feel the bass in your Bones!

He takes Devin down the stairs and to a secretary she is a rabbit Zoanthrope, dressed in a white button up shirt, a pencil shirt and stockings "Okay, so I hear you wanted to make an appointment for a Miss Hale for tonight? Will you be escorting her tonight?" she rabbit asks in a Way too cheery voice.

Devin had noticed that but said nothing, it did make some sense even if he didn't know a lot of the details that was going on in the background. When he got to the young woman, which he was ninenty nine percent sure was a Zoanthrope since he doubted it was one of Ava's people he nodded a bit. "That's right. I'll be escorting them here later tonight when its safe for them to come over."

The bunny girl writes something on a business card and holds it out to Devin "Alright sir, just give this to the men out front and they will let you in." she says with a toothy smile "thank you and we'll see you tonight."

Devin took the card, looking it over before securing it safely away. Since the appointment had been settled and there was nothing for him to do next, he headed back t Elizabeth to let her know things had went well and they would be expecting them. The harder part would be things with Oka later on. How bad of shape she was in and if they could actually get into contact with Ness or not.

When Devin gets back to the apartment, Elizabeth was already passed out asleep. She had to take some special sleeping pills to knock herself out. But she would likely be awake in a few hours. In the meantime, Devin could take care of his Other business.

Devin let his girlfriend sleep for the time being as she needed plus she was probably more knocked out due to the pills again. His first stop was to Paragon Corps and see how that went, even if Ness wasn't there hopefully the word of things would let him know he was looking for them but one thing at a time.

Paragon Corp was like it came Straight from the future! Even the air in the building seemed cleaner. There were people wandering around, as well as NS-5s. The holo-secretary looks up as Devin "Hello and welcome to Paragon Corp. How may I help you?" she asks.

Devin briefly admired the interior before turning towards the secretary. "My name is Devin Lavouche from the Last Maiden. We've worked and still do with Paragon so there should be something there. Anyway, I was hoping to get into contact Ness Burger when they're avaibale for something important."

The "lady" taps on a screen "I'm sorry, Mister Lavouche, but there is no Ness Burger on file as an employee for Paragon. May I help you with something else?" she asks.

A Young Man comes walking up to Devin "Excuse me, Mister Lavouche, perhaps I can help you..." he says as he looks over to the secretary "Thank you, Sherry. I will take it from here." he says.

Sherry nods with a smile "Okay, Kitt. Have a wonderful day!" she says with a smile.

Kitt looks over to Devin "Please follow me, Mister Lavouche." he says as he heads back out "You see, although Ness helps Cedrick and Does work on Many projects for Paragon, he doesn't Actually work for them. He Does have his own little research facility on site." he explains.

Devin was a bit let down about that, he had thought Ness had worked here given what he knew but before he could think of something else, someone else came. They hadn't seen them before but they obviously knew Ness. "So more along someone that works contractor. Are you a friend of his?"
