Old and New Friends

Hiroshi mentally cursed. He should have known they be close and he did, but he underestimated how close they'd actually be. He doubted the weapons would hurt Deila at least, but they could be special in some way so he wasn't entirely sure. If they were smart enough to do this, then they were likely smart enough to have something to deal with her.

Before anything else could be said or done, one of the other Hunters were certainly yanked into the darkness. Soon followed by Mad revealing themselves and scaring off the other one.

"Let's go." He didn't need to tell the young woman twice as he headed back to the cabin quickly, she was scared of Mad and wasn't going to just stay there regardless. Hopefully there weren't more goons around to attack Soten but he needed to be both quick and cautious. "Is there anyone else?" He said quickly to Deila, this time Not get jumped with their pants down this time.

Delia didn't need to be told twice. As soon as Hiroshi took off, Delia was right behind him "There are ten people who followed Lia-Chan..." she tells Hiroshi as gunshots can be heard "Most went to the cabin, while two stayed to watch Lia-Chan..." she looks up at Hiroshi "Is Lia-Chan in trouble?" she asks.

When the cabin is in sight, Usagi had gone all Gravity Siren on those Mercs! She had a bubble of distorted space around her and when the Mercs shot at her, the bullets would just orbit around her before shooting off into every which direction, then Usagi would pick up something to "toss" at them, but they would dodge out of the way and continue to shoot at her. Until one throws a flash grenade at her, which gets caught in her orbit as well!

He shook his head. "No. What's done is done and we all make mistakes. But what you can do is help out so these people don't get away with what they wanted."

Sure enough there was already a pitch battle going on, but worryingly he didn't see Soten. Was she ok or had she been taken out? Hopefully not. Since Usagi didn't want to kill or injure too badly she was holding herself back a bit, which could wind up to bite them.

"That's my friend Usagi they're attacking, go help them and knock the other people out. I'll snipe them." And maybe with the scope he could see where Soten was to.

In the mean time, he took out his dart rifle and took aim at the more vunerable parts of the mercs to get some shots in and drop a few of them while they didn't know they were there. If nothing else Deila causing chaos should keep him covered.

As soon as Hiroshi told Delia to attack, her pupils dilate and she takes off on all fours again! She Slams into two of the men just as the flash grenade goes off, taking Usagi out! The Gravity Siren falls to the ground, unconscious.

Delia, however, Throws a guy with Impressive force and range! The guy yells as he flies through the air, slamming into a tree. His friend was shooting at Dekia point blank, which did nothing but ruin her dress, and she nails him with a Vicious push kick that sends the man tumbling through the ground!

Suddenly a plasma bolt hits Delia from the otherside of the woods, knocking her to the ground! It seems they have a sniper of their own. One who is proficient at hitting moving targets And has hightech weapons! This was likely the Hunter mole!

Mad was right next to Hiroshi "I shall handle the Hunter..." he snarls "You handle the remaining Mercs..." he growls as he takes off towards where the plasma shot came from.

Hiroshi didn't have much time since Soten could be serious trouble but he did go to briefly check on Deila. Not only to see if she been seriously hurt, but if he'd have to do the rest alone. "You ok?!" He also had to move Usagi to a slightly safer location, just case so she didn't get hit with a stray bullet or something.

Both Usagi and Delia were unconscious but unharmed. As for Soten, she was hiding in the bathroom. The Only separate room in the building. She was holding some acorns, ready to use them should she need to.

Off in the distance, five more figures could be seen moving through the field, heading towards the cabin. They were similarly armed and were wearing night vision goggles as they made their way towards Hiroshi's position.

Hiroshi was relieved Deila and Usagi were ok, but the situation wasn't looking that great. He wasn't bullet proof, nor could he dodge bullets. Hell he didn't even have any fancy tricks to deal with them. Shields or weapons? Considering he could at best make crude things that weren't even solid like Natomi that was out. Super heat himself to melt the bullets before they hit? Would been useful, if he had enough skill to do that. Flying was out since he could barely do it, let alone carrying three people to safety. The best he could do was 'aim dodge' and even then he wasn't so fast normal and well trained humans couldn't nail him.

At the moment, there was a decent chance he and Soten both could die if something wasn't done. Depending on the mercs, they might leave Usagi alone, kill them or bring her or Deila both in assuming they had extra collars. Since both would probably worth a Lot of money in the inhuman trafficking trade, like Blader mentioned looking into. Both were rare and attractive to boot. So in a sense, the next decisions put the fate of others in his hands. No pressure.

Being a scrubby Farian more then ever in this instance sucked.

He didn't want to, and it was a horrible way to go but that area had a lot of fuel for fire. He made a quick mental check of its spread so should just burn them and not the other way around. They had to be elimiated or at least halted and he was limited in options. Hiroshi was not letting anything happening to any of the three, especially his charge. Have to do what you gotta do.. He mentally steeled himself. A fireball was launched, not at them but rather at the most 'flambale area' which wasn't hard being in a forest.

Soon the field area the mercs were treading on burst into flames...

"Flank the area!" one yells as the team breaks up and starts spreading out to go around the rapidly spreading fire, and their aim was focused on Hiroshi. But than, better him than Soten "Boss says that's a Farian. They control fire!" says the same Merc.

"We don't have anything to counter fire except our flasher!" calls another guy.

"And what are we holding, pop guns?" asks another and the team starts to open fire on Hiroshi!

Hiroshi was already quickly moving so they have a harder time to get a bead on them and using the forest for cover. If it was just himself he could just burn a lot more until he got them, but since there was a cabin and others he had to be more careful.

Since a dart gun was a poor weapon for a shoot out, he instead opted to use his fireballs in a similar matter. But it was more for strategic usage of areas to catch fire and either burn them or at least halt their movements, they could only move so much. A stray bullet glazed his shoulder, it didn't hit anything serious but it was going to hurt like a bitch once the rush ran off.

Since Hiroshi was sticking to the tree line, one of the men broke off from the pack and moved towards the cabin, because there was no one protecting it or Soten at the moment. The other four press their attack on Hiroshi and since it was getting darker out they switched to their night vision so they could keep Hiroshi insight at all times.

Seeing how the situation was going and one was trying to break off to go after Soten he needed to end things like yesterday. He had a idea, it was a bit risky and he'd have a short time to do it before he ran out of steam. But he'd make it work. Do or do not, there is no try and all.

Maybe he could even use their night vision against them. So that in mind, Hiroshi quickly and suddenly covered himself in flames making it as bright and sudden as he could make it to hopefully blind them as he transformed. He had a limited timer being in this state but he'd make do.

Then he took the sky looking like he was wearing rocket propelled shoes. It was fast not Nearly as smooth as he would like. The flames and control were also crude but it worked in this instant and while he could go very fast and especially transformed, he had a harder time turning. Still, he got around his lack of current skill from the technique Luke taught in another way. He'd shoot towards one direction, then slow down, twist and kick himself off another direction as quickly ping ponging around the mercs and boxing them in a fiery wall there there wasn't going be a escape this time.

The flames would do the rest, even if they somehow got through in one piece they were halted for the moment. Not wanting to waste his limited time in this state, he zoomed towards the other Merc trying to go after Soten.

Since he was hitting a bit too close to the cabin, he had slow down the fire rampage. He did toss a few fire balls at them as he zoomed past them. He had to stop his rocket fueled ride to prevent harming the cabin or anyone else. That meant skidding across the surface as he made his landing, not the best but at least besides his stomach doing donuts he was on his feet. He still had a tiny bit amount of time transformed if the flames somehow all missed him.

The soldiers, of course, dodged all his fireballs, as they were moving as fast as he could throw them and when he took to the skies, burning brightly, they simply took their night vision and started shooting at the Bright target soaring through the skies!

Suddenly, where the fire that Hiroshi started earlier was burning out of control, something Slams into the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust. Without warning, two whip-like things shoot into the air and were glowing a bluish color, leaving trails of frost and ice falling off of them!

Silver was shining off what Looked like a pair of wings, spread menacingly out as two very clear, glowing red eyes could be seen in the shadow of the cloud of dust. This, right here, was Exactly the kind of distraction Hiroshi would have been looking for!

It hadn't worked as he wanted, just like it seemed like pretty much nothing else had since it started. Instead of being blinded it just like he had been planning it made him a better target. And just like he had wanted to trap them, that hadn't worked like he had been planning.

That was to he got shot up pretty decently and crashed down in another part of the forest.  His body also hadn't fully caught with the pain after the crash.

Shit a lot of blood...

He couldn't really even move properly since they had gotten his leg too, and with shaky hands did his best patch his leg up by ripping his shirt. Today had been a absolute disaster, and what's more his attempts had made things worse. A fire that had done nothing(they weren't even there) and could spread to the cabin of the very people he was trying to look after.

In the end it was it really a surprise? Always useless when it really mattered without his friends. At least Winters were here to clean up his mess.

Those were his last thoughts before he there wasn't anything at all. He was still alive but unconscious.

From out of nowhere, Delia Explodes out of the forest with a Serious case of the Zoomies as she shoots towards one of the Merc like a Missile! She slams into him so hard that it could have Not broken something inside! She grabs the man by the leg and Throws him at one of the others! Which was impressive considering how far spread out they were.

The Mercs must have decided that Delia was the bigger threat as they turned their guns towards her instead, which left them Wide open to be flanked! However, one really didn't seem to need to, since Delia Zoomed through the Burning field straight towards another Merc, slamming into him, her horn going through the man's armor as Delia throws her head back, tossing the man over her shoulder! She turns her feral eyes back towards the remaining two, ready to attack with a savage fury!

Meanwhile, Usagi wakes up as well and follows Bun-Bun to Hiroshi, seeing him in a rough state, she pulls out the dermal regenerator and starts getting to work on fixing him up, all the while lightly slapping his face trying to wake him up "Hiroshi, wake up, wake up, wake up!" she says as she keeps healing his wounds. Desperate, the only thing she could think of was to move close and plant a kiss right on his lips!

Hiroshi woke up groggily, but he was still a bit out of it at the moment. He wasn't really in a position to walk either. He was only confused but not complaining about a beautiful woman kissing him before his brain came to the present all at once.

He gently pulled away enough so he could talk. "W-where Is Soten? One of them went after her-" Hiroshi would have attempted to get up, but it felt like his leg didn't want to work. Hopefully nothing serious besides it hurting to breath at the moment and who knows what else. "Ugh..this sucks.."

Usagi didn't know Why Hiroshi was having troubles walking, she used the dermal regenerator to fix up his wounds, at least, the Major ones.

She shakes her head "I don't know. I just woke up, found you, healed your major injuries and woke you up. But we have a Bigger problem, your little friend is going wild out there!" she explains in a rush as she points to the burning field.

Delia had one of the Merc by the arm, with her teeth, and was swinging him around like a ragdoll, before he goes Flying! It seems whatever Delia was bitting onto finally gave away and she turns her feral eyes towards the last Merc!

Hiroshi still wasn't at one hundred percent and he felt a bit dizzy if he moved too much due to blood loss, something that take time. Truth be told he was more worried about Soten then Deila savaging a few mercs. That said they were beaten so no need for it to continue and if the merc was smart they'd just run. It was one thing to kill in self defense, but slaughtering was another matter. Assuming Deila listened to him, she had become more inpdepdent and she seemed a bit crazy at the moment. Maybe seeing him injured set her off.

"Deila stop! They're beaten!"

The man was no one's fool. After seeing what Delia did to his companions, he turns and ran as if his life depended on it, which it Really did!

Delia, who was running on all fours after the man, screeches to a stop at Hiroshi's command and looks at him, there was barely contained animalistic fury behind her razor thin eyes, which start to return to normal when she sees Hiroshi "Onii... Chan...?" she asks in her old broken English voice.

She suddenly takes off towards him on all fours "Onii-Chan!!" she yells as tears were flowing down her face as she jumps towards Hiroshi!

Usagi surrounds Delia in an antigravity bubble, stopping h er complete forward momentum "Hold on! He's really hurt and won't be able to support your weight!" she tells Delia, before letting her down "Besides, we need you to check on Soten, the woman in the cabin." she says.

Delia looks over to Hiroshi, then the cabin, before she takes off towards the structure. Jason comes floating down "Hiroshi, Hiroshi, Hiroshi... You Really need to learn to control those Firey impulses of yours." he says as he tosses a senzu bean to him "Soten is fine. She can't really move, because she needs physical contact and concentration, for the illusion spell she's got that last guy under, but she's fine." he tells Hiroshi.

Usagi breathes a sigh of relief "That good to hear. So, did we do it? Did we save the day?" she asks.

Jason nods "Yes. All of you did. Even you, Hiroshi. No failures here today." he tells them "And yes, that's exactly what set Delia off. Her precious big brother getting hurt and her not being able to protect him." he tells Hiroshi as he looks back to him "You're Really gonna need to talk to her about that at some point." he says as he heads back into the woods to take care of the fires there.

Usagi looks over to Hiroshi "Let's go in and take care of that last Merc." she says.

Hiroshi would have to later for sure, if she was going be around their cell regularly chances were good he'd get hurt again. So she couldn't fly off the handle like that. He took the bean, and instantly felt better.

"Yeah. Let's go.." Hiroshi said as they headed back to the cabin where the last merc was.

When they get back to the cabin, Delia had taken the Merc's gun from him, but he was still in the illusion Soten had placed him under "Please feel free to do something about this man..." she says "I'm starting to lose my concentration..." she mumbles.

"One second." Hiroshi checked himself to get the spare ammo he had been using for the dart gun. Taking the dart, and making sure the armor wasn't in the one, he let it do its work before finding a rope or something along those lines to keep them bound until others showed up. They shouldn't be waking up any time soon.

Then he'd have to contact Abraxus to let him know things were over and to come down. Although the fact Mad had yet to come back yet meant other the mole was decently strong or something else was going on. He was slightly worried if Deila was in trouble since she technically led them here, even if she didn't know any better. One thing at a time.

Only thing he knew for sure he was going to do some winding down after this when he got the chance.

As they were figuring out what to do, about five black SUVs come rolling up and Abraxus steps out of one, as a dozen armed agents come out of the others and set up a perimeter while Abraxus walks into the cabin.

He points to Delia "What's she doing here?" he says as he points to the Merc and somme of his men cuff him and drag him out "Status update?" he asks, not really at Hiroshi or anyone, then nods "Understood. Continue sweeping the area."

He focuses back to Hiroshi "I believe an explanation is in order." he says "Mad told us to get a team together and head out, than I get a report that he appeared in HQ with the mole and said we needed to double time it to you. So, I take it from the fact that everyone is still alive, aside from a few Mercs, that everything went smoothly?" he asks, slightly sarcastically.

Hiroshi turned to address Abraxus. "..Something like that." He mumbled as he continued. "She's here because she followed Soten's scent, I sometimes forget how good her nose is. One of them said they help with her going to the same school as me if they found her. She's not in any trouble is she?" It was very naive and could of gone very, very wrong and did almost but it worked out.

Abraxus's face was blank "We'll talk about that later." he says in an even tone "For now, we have a Mobile Command Unit on the way, when they get here we'll have you all checked out. It's standard practice for all Hunters who come back from a hard mission to undergo a psychiatric evaluation and take some mandatory time off..." he explains as he looks the four of them over "It looks like you could use it. In the mean time, take it easy and rest. You all have earned it." he tells them as he starts off to talk to Mad about what happened.

"Well, that could of gone better but could of been a lot worse.."  He said to no one in particular as he went to sit down.

Going home and winding down sounded really nice at the moment, hopefully Deila wasn't into too much trouble but it was hard to make out what was going through Abraxus' head. Overall, he wasn't really happy with his performance and they were mostly alive due to luck. Which was fine, until it wasn't. They were only here because they decided not to shoot Usagi when she was down, which would lead to him not getting healed, and Soten possibly killed since Deila likely didn't even know about Soten and was in a different frame of mind.

Hiroshi had no illusions where he was in the grand scheme of things but struggling with normal albeit skilled humans with guns that weren't even Hunters and not able to even moderately injure even one of them was a reminder of it. He'd have time to sort it out during his time off.
