Opening Jitters

"I wouldn't mind, its perfect for around this time." It was something of an acquired taste for Manny, but he did eventually end up liking shaved ice over time.

"Um can I have some too?" Michru asked, she knew what shaved ice was. Monica would politely decline if asked.

Anita nods "Of course you can have some shaved ice." she says to Michru "Does anyone else want some as well?" she asks, smiling at everyone.

Regina shakes her head No thank you. I brought my own snacks, as you may recall." she says, a cooler by where she set up shop.

Monica shook her head after a moment. "I'm fine too, but thank you." If she wanted something maybe she'd try another thing just she wasn't really in the mood for shaved ice even if she normally liked it.

Regina looks over to Monica "Not in the mood for sweets? Than how about something salty?" she asks with a twinkle in her eyes.

She moves close to Monica "How long has it been, since you've been with someone, my dear?" she asks in a low tone, to Michru wouldn't hear.

"Uh..about a year." Monica said after a moment not really wanting to into it. She had her fair share of being burned so she only bothered with people she liked or trusted even for one time things. In the background Manny picked up the hint and tuned the conversation out while keeping Michru occupied so she wouldn't distract them.

Regina could also take a hint, when she wanted to "Emanulle, be a dear and go get Michru something to drink while Anita gets you guys some shaved ice. Monica and I have some grown up things to talk about." she says.

Emanulle nodded to that and escorted Michru away leaving Monica and Regina alone for the moment to talk about whatever, it really wasn't his business either way.

Anita headed on over to Manny and Michru, letting Regina and Monica to talk "So, am I to assume that thise two sre talking about girl stuff?" she asks, handing Manny and Michru their shaved ice.

Emanulle nodded slightly. "Something along those lines probably. I'm not sure what they're talking about exactly." He graciously accepted the shaved ice, as Michru happily took the second one after a small thank you.

Anita nods with a shrug "Oh well. It doesn't matter, so long as they keep out of trouble." she says "After this, how about we go exploring for a bit, then get some lunch?" she asks Michru.

Michru was happily eating her shaved ice when Anita addressed her, the comment making her excited. "Yay! That'll be fun, I think. Where to?"

Emanulle smiled but shook his head. "Just exploring, nowhere in particular Michru."

Anita thinks for a bit "Maybe we'll even rent a metal detector and go treasure hunting." she says, knowing that Michru's curiosity would get the better of her and plus, Treasure Hunting!

"Treasure?" Michru eyes lit up. "Maybe like a pirates treasure!"

This amused Emanulle a bit. "Maybe. Who knows? May find something interesting while on your treasure hunt, stranger things have happened."

Anita was also amused by Michru's reaction. She knew where to find a metal detector they could rent. There was a beach shop close to the shaved ice shop that sold beach items, like floaties, sun block, and the like. They even rented stuff as well, metal detectors be one of them.

Personally, though, Anita didn't think they would find much of anything. This beach was kept fairly clean. But still, it was the hunt that was important.

Michru didn't care if they found anything, just spending time with Emanulle and Anita was enough for her, plus the general idea of adventuring in her mind was plenty exciting. Maybe they even find a space ship part? Though she wasn't sure why they'd be at a beach but it didn't matter as her imagination was jumping to point A to B.

After they finished with their shaved ice, Anita goes to rent that metal detector. She comes back a little later with some water, snacks, and a small shovel "Okay, who's to go treasure hunting?" she asks with much gusto.

"I am~!" Michru said happily, ready and rearing to go. She really wanted to see if they find anything interesting even if it wasn't as exiciting as pirate treasure or space ship parts.

Emanulle looked around. "Maybe over there at the other end of the beach for a start? Not that it matters too much where we start at."

Anita nods "The end of the beach it is." she jefts the metal detector and lets Manny get the snacks and small shovel.

As they start off at the end of the beach, they get a ping. It was an old bottle cap. They find a few more things, but it's just junk like bobbypins and a few cans "How about we move away from the beach and into the wooded area?" Anita suggests.

"What if there are monsters in the woods area though?" Michru asked worriedly looking towards the place with her young imagination going wild.

"There's nothing there." Emanulle was partially amused. "Even if there was you have us two right there, it'll be fine Michru."

They picked up a few weak signles and Anita didn't think they were worth looking into, until they got a strong hit on something a little ways into the woods.

Using the metal detector, Anita was able to scale out what they were looking at. It was a small. About the size of a pencile box. But it was obviously made of metal.

After some digging, Anita was surprised to see that they had found a small treasure chest! However, it was locked! There was a message carved in the top that read "When I wake, I light a path to safety. When I sleep, is the key to finding... the rest was worn off.

Anita lightly shakes the small chest. There was definitely something in there, as she could hear things thumping against the wood and coins jangling about inside. She looks over to Manny "Well, any thoughts?" she asks.

Michru wasn't thinking too much of it as she looked at the treasure chest excitedly, they had found something! She didn't know what it was but seemed like a big deal.

Emanulle expected the item, he honestly wasn't sure what to make of it. "I don't know. I'm probably being overly cautious of not having the best feeling on it. I think its just over thinking the words caved out."

Anita nods, absently "Come on. Let's head back to the others and see if they know anything about this." she says.

It doesn't take them long to get back to their spot. Regina was still talking to Monica about things. Small talk, nothing special. The dark goddess looks over to tge three of them "Back already? Did you find anything on your treasure hunt?" she asks, a twinkle in her eye.

Emanulle spoke up first. "We found a treasure box, its locked no idea what's in it but it had some words carved on it. 'When I wake I light a path to safety. When I sleep is the key to find'. And that's about it since the rest is gone. It sounded like a riddle or something."

"It does.." Monica thought then shook her head. "Not sure if there's anything more special to it but with all the strange things we went through who's to say."

Regina nods, as if knowing what they were talking about "Well, the first thing you need to figure out, is what lights a path when it wakes up? If you find that out, I'm sure you be able to open the chest in no time." she says.

Emanulle was thinking of what it could possibly be, light up could be a number of things but the waking up thing was what thew him off. He turned to Anita. "..Any ideas? I'm thinking but have nothing right now."
