Out Of Time

Abraxus nods "It was worth trying. Come on, I'll take you to a safe house while Mad finds your brother." he says. He knew Mad didn't know what Leniya's brother looked like, but Mad had a way of finding those he looked for.

Mad finds a another one and walks out o the shadows. He approaches the vampire, eyes burning "Leniya...does that name...mean something...to you?" he asks. There was no big secret to how Mad knows what he knows and can find whomever he's looking for. Just good old fashion leg work.

Leniya let the bounty hunter comment drop, she was smart enough to take a hint or it just slipped his mind. Didn't matter either way. "Where is this safe house? In this city or..?"

Jaiden didn't know what to make of this man as he didn't know them so he was cautious. "That's the name of my sister. How do you know that name?"

Abraxus didn't comment about being a bounty hunter, because it was related directly to his families death and that was still a very sensitive subject for him "It's in he city. We'll stay here until we can determine that your niece is either found or not in the city or if you wish to go elsewhere." he says as he leads her off.

He would meet up with some other Hunters and they would confer about the best course of action and how to proceed. They would also want to question Leniya, but he doubted they would get any more out of her that was useful then he would already report. Plus, he would sit in on he questioning.

"If I may as, why are there so many of your kind on Earth, but we have yet to make contact with your people? Your government must know that illegal immigration looks Very bad for them, should they ever make contact with the Humans, right?" he asks.

Mad's eyes were Burning into Jaiden's soul and possibly even the very fiber of his being. Mad reaches up and rips the medicine bag from his neck and throws it away. His eyes cease their burning look "Your sister, Leniya. She sent me to find you." he grumbles.

He hoped that is gesture of throwing his source of power away would be proof of his non hostile intentions "She's here, looking for her niece and she, herself, is not well. Not enough to be on her own. She needs her brother." he says in a low tone "Come on. I'll take you to her." he says.

He didn't know if this Jaiden would follow him or not. It wouldn't be the smartest thing to follow someone you knew Nothing about, claiming to have met your sibling and just rattled off some basic information that would be common to anyone who either Actually knew them, or had something to do with the abduction. Either way, Mad didn't care, he had found Leniya's brother.

(I think there's a flaw in my writing, there isn't suppose to be that many Nosferartu here, at least not to the point they'd be common knowledge. In fact if you totaled every single Noreal native race on earth, it would still be less then a hundred. No big deal, but something for me to be aware of)

Leniya mulled over it briefly. "I didn't know there were that many of my race here, at least there shouldn't be. You can actually get into trouble just going to earth like that and heading back. Me and Jaiden aren't even suppose to be here and if weren't for Milana, we wouldn't be. We'll probably get into Some trouble, to be honest but I'd do it again if I had to. That's also why there isn't anyone searching here but us, politics."


"We actually have a small human population where I'm from, not large like here of course though and they aren't native. Noreal, that is my world seems to be a hub to other ones by portals to other places for better or worse. For the most part, we have a handle of it these days so no one leaves in or out that we don;t want, but there's slips and cracks. Like the people who took Milana." She mumbled.

After the explanation, Jaiden relaxed slightly but not completely. "I see, though I can't confirm who you are. But maybe we can all meet somewhere on neutral ground in public?" He wasn't sure about going with them, but he couldn't just ignore it either.

((There's no flaws, but remember, since they're an open race, it's generally assumed that more then the characters you've created would be on Earth and someone like Abraxus would notice them, because he can tell what race someone is from, even if they look Human. Which creates a slight problem with open races to a closed world.))

Abraxus nods "That sounds about like Earth as well. It leads to many different places and had many different people on it, but the Humans, who make up the majority of the population, are so against anything that Isn't Human." he explains.

"Though, it's not Completely their fault..." he says slowly "Some years back, Earth was attacks, quite brutally, by...forces from beyond our world We beat the invaders back, but instead of uniting them, the Humans became withdrawn and xenophobic Turning their paranoia and aggression, which is considerable, against any no Humans they could find." he continues.

"Since most Inhumans were in hiding at the time, the evolved Humans known as Zoanthropes took the full brunt of the Humans anger and Zoanthropes did suffer for it." he says in a low tone "However, because they stood tall and proud and handled the situation by Huma laws, they finally got what they wanted. Then came the Mystics and while they aren't treated Nearly as bad, they still aren't completely welcomed on Earth. But it's a start." he finishes.

"I fully believe that, given enough time and space, the Humans will get over their xenophobia and start to embrace the other races that have called Earth their home for centuries."

Mad thinks for a bit. That was a very sensible thing to ask, he had to give him credit for that. The dark warrior nods slowly "There's a central plaza with a fountain and clock..." he points in the direction it was located in "That way...Be there in one hour. That gives you plenty of time to find it and look the area over for all escape accesses and possible ambushes, should you feel the need to." he says.

Then he reaches into his pocket, and pulls out the medicine bag he had thrown away ot too long ago "Despite your instincts telling you..." he says, slipping the medicine bag around his neck an his eyes start burning once more, as he looks more demonic somehow "We...are not...your enemy..." he snarls, then melts back into the shadows.

"I don't know much of anything about earth culture to say really but if the humans that came to our world can do it and get along with the races back home, so can the ones here. And they had the excuse of losing their home realm and almost driven to being extinct by a non human invading force." If asked about what she was talking about she'd clarify but she didn't want to bog Abraxus down with information.

She didn't think Noreal would contact earth anytime soon or visa versa. The leaders, even the human ones ironically were very cautious with the exaggerated horror stories of earth. Earth wasn't Really that bad, but memes and urban legends made people play on the side of caution, especially if you were a political leader.

Abraxus didn't ask about any invaders, assuming they were the Space Pirates. He was about to comment about something when Mad comes walking over to them "I found...your brother..." he growls. [color:d7e0=black*That was fast...* Abraxus thinks.

"We are...to meet him...in the...central square..." he growls "In one hour..." he finishes.

Abraxus nods. He knew where the central square was and an hour was plenty of time to show Leniya to the safe house, or at least, one of them. Just incase everything wasn't on the up and up. Plus, he could end word to other in the Alliance.

It was a safe and logical conclusion Abraxus had come up with, but in this case the whole truth was different and much stranger then fiction in this case.

Leniya thought that was pretty fast as well, Mad most of had some really good tracking skills. "That should be more then enough time for him to find it." And get to this safe house, but she wasn't too concerned as much about her own safety as she was Milana's. Partly anyway. They obviously needed her alive, but for how long and for what purpose?

"There is one other thing, thinking about it." Leniya began slowly. "Back in Noreal, kids have been vanishing. This unfourtnately is nothing new, people just vanish some times due to different things. There's No concrete evidence they have been disappearing from anything out of the ordinary, All the children fit a profile even though they were all different. That is, they all had in common some personality traits."

"So authorities kinda have some theories but since there is no direct proof, its just been there slowly on going. I'm not sure if this case with Milana is related or not. And if it is somehow, what the point of gathering a bunch of random children would be."

Abraxus nods slowly "I can't speak of Noreal, but when people go missing on Earth, proof or not, we often o on full lock down until we either find them, find proof of fowl play or, after some time, we can't find any trace of them." he says.

"Often enough...we never find them..." Mad snarls, listening on their conversation.

They finally get to the safehouse. It was a cozy apartment. Not small, but not huge. It was big enough for two people to live comfortably in it. There was one bed, one western style bath, a small kitchen and a small living room. It was only meant for two people for a few days, a week at most.

That was why things had been even More strict about who left and came in. It was impossible to shut things down completely, at least since sometimes it was required for people to leave. More confusing was who these people were and how they knew about Noreal in the first place.

She didn't comment about Mad's last words, it was a possibility but she didn't want to think about it.

"This is about the size the place I would have stayed at back home.." She said, looking around.

Abraxus often wondered how these people from different worlds always seemed to know about Earth and more importantly, why they always came here if they had such a low opinion of the place. He supposed it was on of those mysteries that one would never know the answer to.

Abraxus also took Leniya's comment abou the room as a approval of it and he nods slightly "If we can convince your brother o trust s, he can stay here with you as well, if there are no objections." he says as he pulls out his phone "Excuse me for a bit. he says, going to make his calls to the Hunter Alliance.

Mad was just standing there, in the shade, staring at something only he could see with his burning eyes. He might as well have been a fixture in the room for all the moving around he was doing.

Leniya didn't understand that part either, as far as not liking earth but going there to live anyway. It was rather counter productive, not to mention in her opinion one Shouldn't judge a place until they've been there a bit to truly know it. Much like with people, different places had their own histories and personalities and your first impression could be quite wrong. At least that was her opinion, so she was on the same page on Abraxus in regards to that. There was still countless stuff about earth she didn't know.

Which speaking of, was Mad. She didn't know what to make of him just yet but she was all giving people a chance. From what she observed, something was tied to that medicine bag. It wasn't a Sync Device like the humans of her world used since there was nothing technological about it..on the surface.

Leniya didn't want to sit completely in awkward silence, though Mad seemed more like the quite type anyway. "How long have you and Abraxus known each other?" Something small and not too personal or probing.

Mad turns his burning eyes over towards Leniya "I have...only known him...for a few months..." he says in a growl "I'm not...one of his...favorite people..." he says in a snarl this time.

He pulls out a pocket watch "It's almost time..." he growls, then looks over to Leniya "We should...leave now..." he growls again.

"Right." Leniya dusted herself off before getting from her spot to follow Mad. Once they got Milana back, maybe she'd stay on earth a bit longer if she could. Some things had her curious, the people and culture here..and a certain demi Devil.

The last time she had been in a relationship hadn't gone too well; her former boyfriend got agitated and impatient about not being intimate soon enough. Leniya was the type to wait until she was sure. Soon as that was found out to be actually true, they had bailed to some air head.

Oh well. It wasn't a big loss if that's how they truly were.

It didn't take them long to get to the central square, which was packed with people for some kind of announcement. Mad figured a wide open space with plenty of people and exits would put Leniya's brother at ease. The clock showed they had a little over five minuets before it was time for the meet-n-greet.

Mad slowly looks around, his burning eyes seemingly seeing everything they passed over. He had seen quite a few none Humans wandering around. Domino City was a hotspot for Inhuman activity. Which was why the Scanners were quite heavy, but with all the electronics around, it was throwing off their sensors and giving them false readings. That's why Domino City was so popular with Inhumans.

Leniya found this city pretty interesting, the holograms reminded her a bit of some things back home. There was no signs of her brother but it wasn't exactly time.

Sure enough, Jaiden arrived shortly after making it a point to be on time. He was looking around a bit before he spotted the two as he cautiously made his way over. "I was worried. I thought you might of gotten into trouble."

Leniya gave them a brief hug. "No, I'm fine. They weren't interested in me, just Milana."

Jaiden slowly nodded a bit to regard the man by them. "Thank you for keeping a eye on my little sister. My name is Jaiden, if she didn't meniton me by name already."

Mad nods "She did..." he growls "We have...arraned...a place for you...to stay..." he growls again to Jaiden "Follow me..." he starts off, moving through the crowd that was still gathering. He didn't wait to see if they were following or not. He had gotten them together. If the decided to work with the Hunter Alliance or not after this, was none of his concern.

Since Leniya seemed to be all right with this man, Jaiden was fine with giving this fellow the benefit of the doubt for now. Both vampires did end up following after them, but the older of the two wondered what was up with them. He was reasonbaly sure he was human, but he was different obviously as well.

Mad escorted the two back to the safe house in silence. To Mad, silence spoke volumes. He could also feel Jaiden's eyes on his back. He always seemed to now when someone was watching him. But he didn't care.

Once at the safe house, Mad opens the door "Abraxus...awaits..." he snarls at he two. *Kill them...they will make us....so much stronger....* the Darkness hisses i Mad's mind. But he ignores it as always *So will the devil...* it hisses again, referring to Abraxus this time.

It wasn't too long before Jaiden made some mental notes about the place, he wasn't really trained like his older brother had been but he was at least observant. Overall it seemed like an all right place to be, he wasn't exactly picky.

When he saw the other man(he assumed it was this Abraxus fellow Leniya mentioned) he made his way over extending his hand. "Abraxus, I'm guessing? Jaiden Holander. Nice to meet you and thank you for keeping a eye on my baby sister."

"You're going to call me that even when I become a old woman." Leniya said, partly amused.

Abraxus takes Jaiden's hand in a firm grasp "It's not a problem." he says as he lets the man's hand go "Come on, I'll show you around the safe house. This'll be your base of operations while we look for your niece. Though I have to ask that you not do anything wreckless we you're under our care." he says, his eyes dancing, if ever so briefly on Leniya.

"I'll give you my direct cell number and a couple of phones, if you see, hear, or find out anything that might be a clue to Milana, call me and I'll send my people to check it out." he informs them "Also, this isn't your prison, it's your place to stay while we handle this. ust wanted to let you know that." he explains.

Mad was watching Abraxus making a fool of himself and knew why that was. It was Jaiden's sister, Leniya. She made Abraxus, who was normally All business, turn into a awkward teenager looking for a date before prom night It was slightly amusing, if also a bit painful to watch.

"Thank you. Um, does earth accept golds or silver as currency?" Leniya was curious. "If we end up staying here for a while then its important we know. I don't want to not pull my weight while I'm here since you're putting a roof over our heads."

That was a fair point in Jaiden's mind as well. But there was also something else. "I was also wondering if earth has inhalers. Leniya might need some later depending how long we're here."

"Oh, right." Leniya was so worried about other things it slipped her mind. Even so she never liked bringing too much attention to her medical issues.

Abraxus nods "Yes,silver and gold Are a form of currency, but it largely depends on the country you're in. Like America uses dollars and Japan uses yen. Here in Domino, they use zenni. I'll see about getting you some local currency. Exchanging gold and silver will attract too much attention to he both of you." he points out.

As for their other question "Your other question is a bit trickier. Yes, Humans do have inhalers, but without knowing what it's for, it might do more harm than good. Plus, we don't know what effect Human medicine will have on Leniya." he explains.

It was at this time that Mad decided to lend his former teammate a hand "Contact...Espen Goldsmith...They are...the same race..." he growls "He...surely would know..." he points out.

Abraxus already knew that Espen and Leniya were the same race, but they couldn't Just contact the mot influential and important, aside from King Goro and the Arch Bishop, Inhuman on the planet. There were channles they needed to go through "I'll see what I can do." he says in a low tone.

"Then maybe I could give you some to exchange? If me and my brother can't do it then someone else can." Leinya didn't comment about the Espen thing though, it was pretty common knowledge their former diplomat had left to stay on earth indefinitely.

Though she wasn't sure why. Even before he got where he was, he had a lot going for him. He was well liked, many women from the various races loved him, among other things. Espen had stated he wanted to settle down and have a family, so it seemed odd to her he had chosen to stay on earth. Whatever it was there had made him decide to extend his stay longer; she didn't know the man personally so she couldn't say really.

Abraxus shakes his head "The same problem will likely arise. I'll just requisition some funds from the Hunter Alliance. It's not a problem." he says "In the mean time, if you need to go anywhere,ask myself or Mad..." he nods to the dark warrior "While I have no doubts you both can take are of yourselves, it's the complications before and afterwards we want to avoid." he points out.

Mad knew he was mainly referring to the Scanners. The brother was lucky to have not run into one while he was out and about. While Mad wasn't an Official Hunter anymore, his vast knowledge of the supernatural was still of Great value to them. So he had been made a consultant to the new Hunter Alliance and as such, he could deter the Scanners, should they become a problem.
