Down Time?

Hiromi was up early in the morning in the building they were sharing together currently with the Nakeen family and their Mystic bodyguards that came to and from. As promised, she was going to train Vira how to better defend herself but it was up to her how far she wished to progress from there. She'd have to find a decent training area, so she'd ask around about it.

She hoped Jennifer and Espen were doing all right, and she hoped things fell through with the Very few left over members of her people in that clan able to stay somewhere here. There was probably more Dog Demons out there, but they were very scattered as is.

The guards that stayed with the Nakeen family changed every other day. Some were polite, some were stern, some were women, others were walls and while they all were there to protect the Nakeen family, not all of them liked their duties. Especially when it came to Hiromi.

There was a knock at the door. One of the Grand Hall's maids was standing outside, waiting patiently. One of the guards outside seemed a bit nervous with her around. Which was understandable, considering the maids were suppose to be the best of the best as far as guards went.

Kylie heard a knocking sound and perked up but was stopped by Vira, she was too young to be opening doors by herself but sometimes her excitement got the better of her since she was in the 'helping' phase.

Curious, Vira opened the door.

The maid smiles at Vira "Hello miss Nakeen. Is miss Kokan available? His lordship would like a word with her at her earliest convenience." she says with a pleasant smile.

"I'm here." It was Hiromi who came behind the young vampiress. "If all is right with you, I'm ready to leave when you are." The training could wait, besides she could ask Alister the best area would be to conduct something like that with Vira in the first place. Originally, Jennifer was going to do it but she wasn't here.

It was the usual ride to the Grand Hall, which looked as regal as it always did. Inside there were maids casually going about their business. The maid whom was escorting Hiromi, leads her to the gardens. There, was the Arch Bishop, Alister.

He looks to Hiromi and nods to the maid, who curtseys and heads out "Thank you for taking the time to see me, Hiromi." he says.

He motions for Hiromi to take a seat "I have been in discussions with the Circle for two days now about your request and I'm sorry to say that all six circles have said no for various reasons." he says in a more then slightly pissed tone.

"The First Circle fears our people will be weakened by needing to harvest more food for your people and the possibility of foreign relics and objects from your people as well." he starts to explain.

"The Second Circle is worried about the impact of 'Strange, primitive ideas and beliefs'." he continues, sounding more upset as he goes on.

"The Third Circle says 'We should have nothing to do with such a violent and inferior culture. They are a waste of our time and resources.'." he says, before stopping and calming himself down.

He then turns to Hiromi "I give you my most profound apologies on this matter, Hiromi." he says "As it stands, I'm afraid we can not allow your people a permanent home here." he says, feeling bad about the situation "They are, of course, free to visit, should they choose to." he offers.

Hiromi frowned a bit, she was upset but she did her best to hide it. "Violent? What are they even talking about? My people aren't a bunch of savages." She mumbled. Hiromi got upset when people made ignorant remarks like that but she forced herself to calm down.

"It's all right, Alister. We'll just have to find somewhere else, its back to the drawing board as the earth saying goes."

Honestly if that was how her people were thought of and may have been treated, perhaps it was for the best. "Out of morbid curiousity, what did the last ones say for their no?"

Alister scratches the back of his head "It's nothing nice and probably best you didn't know." he mumbles "However, since it concerns your people, you have the right to know. They know of your races ability to...transform and it was said that they didn't need a race of giant dogs howling at the moons every time they were full." he mumbles.

"In your defense, I explained to them that it's not an involuntary transformation and it's also not like you lose your sense of self. Still, their objection stood." he explains "I could override their decision, but nothing would be served. Authority should never be used as a club." he points out.

He sighs "I'll try again tomorrow after the Circle has once again explained it's 'Wisdom' to me." he says "Please understand, while the Circle is the ruling body of Elysium, they do not speak for all it's people nor do all it's people share the Circle's views." he states.

Hiromi frowned a bit at the last part, but it wasn't anything she hadn't heard before when it came insulting her own people. "If nothing comes of it, then its all right. You did what you could."

"In lighter news, I was going to train Vira in more self defense as I told her I would. Jennifer was going to, but she's with Espen. I was wondering where would be a decent area for such a thing?"

Alister nods "Yes, of course." he mumbles "Feel free to use the training grounds here at the Grand Hall. I'll inform the guards that you both have access." he offers

"It was designed to withstand the high impact energy blasts of my people, it should suffice for your needs." he says.

"You know, if you like, I can assign a personal training for Miss Nakeen and you can oversee her progress." he offers.

"I don't mind and just in case for whatever reason I have to leave early that might be for the best." Hiromi said, then paused. "Have you heard of a young man named Joshua who's from the Fifth Circle? He told me attends your meetings, I met them at that gathering that sent Espen off."

Alister nods "Yes. Joshua is on the Fifth Circle. He remained silent, rather then speak out against or up for, your people. I believe he was considering all the facts of the situation and weighing all options before making any decisions." he says.

"I shall assign our best trainer to Miss Nakeen. She'll know how best to train Miss Nakeen to defend herself." he says "When I have everything all set up, I shall contact the both of you. Once more, I apologize for how things turned out." he says.

Hiromi shook her head. "It's all right, whatever the decision may be we'll get through it. So is there anything else you wanted to talk about?" She personally thought the Circle was looking too much at the possible negatives then the positives such as having another possible group of powerful friends and allies. However, it wasn't her say and from experience councils were a sketchy bunch.

Come to think of it, why did councils seem to compose of many dislikebale personalities at times? It seemed to be a trend no matter what race and place she went on average.

Alister shakes his head "No. That's all I wanted to speak to you about for now. Like I said, we'll reconvene tomorrow and try once more. I'll send word if anything changes or I have something to report. If you don't hear from me, that means nothing's changed." he says with a frown "I bid you a good day." he says with a slight bow.

"You as well Alister." Hiromi wasn't too hopeful things would work out after what she heard but it was out of her hands regardless. She turned to head out and back to her--no, their home.

As she was heading out, she runs into Joshua, who looks surprised to see her in the Grand Hall "Hiromi! W-what an unexpected surprise." he says "May inquire as to the circumstances that has lead you here today?" he asks.

Hiromi was pleasanstly surprised at this and smiled. "I could ask the same. It was just Alister talking about the talks of letting my people stay here have been going on. So far, it hasn't been going as well but whatever decision is reached we'll adapt. Anyway, how are you?"

Joshua nods slowly "I can assume that he told you the details of the Circle meeting. I apologies on my behalf for not saying anything. I needed more information on the matter in general, you know, see both sides of this story, before I could decide." he says.

"And even if I vote in favor, the other Circles might not listen to what I have to say. Sadly enough, so far the only ones who seem in favor are my Lord Arch Bishop and myself for now." he explains.

Hiromi didn't want him to feel guilty. "It's fine Joshua, you shouldn't rush with things like these and these kinds of decisions effect your people as a whole and not just you. From the sounds of things, we'll have to find some place elsewhere. If that happens, I don't want you or Alister to feel bad it'll just take longer is all."

Joshua nods "Thank you for your understanding in this matter. It's a real shame that the Circle can't see what a great opportunity they're throwing away." he says "Still, if things don't turn out well in the next meetings, I've got my informants looking into new places you can call 'Home'. It'll be the least I, or rather We, can do." he says.

Hiromi gave a small smile. "Thank you. I asssume you have important matters to attend to so I'll let you go. But, if you want and you're not doing anything maybe we could spend more time together?"

Joshua nods "I would like that." he says as he bows to Hiromi "You have yourself a pleasant day, lady Hiromi and I shall see you, when next we meet." he says as he continues about his way.

Hiromi let him go and proceeded back on the way home where the others were waiting for her. Nikki was up and about by then but Kylie still seemed to be out cold, which was somewhat odd since usually she was a early riser.

The various Mystics were coming and going out of the Grand Hall. It was a typical day in Capitol City. There was talk about the Arch Bishop opening the Rift to the general public, now that most of the Outcasts were gone or arrested, thanks to the Daughter of The First One.

"I'll be done in a minute, just let me get dressed."

Hiromi idly waved it off after Vira's explanation. "Take your time, the city isn't going anywhere." Vira didn't say anything else as she left to get dressed. They planned on going to explore the city a bit for something to do instead of being cooped in the house for the entire day.
