Did You Get What You Wanted?

It didn't take Marcen long to get to Jack's location and when he got there, he could already see that he was too late. Jack was talking to some Hunters, giving them a report about what happened. There was no sign of Vladimir or the other one who attacked.

As Marcen gets closer, a Hunter stops him and Natomi, getting their names and lets them pass, saying Jack was expecting them. Jack nods to the Hunter he was talking to, some old guy carrying a whip, and the two exchange cards.

Jack walks over to his teammates "Hey you two. We're just finishing up here." he says in a nonchalant tone.

Marcen looks around "What happened here? It looks like a war zone and a hurricane blew through here." he says, noding to the apoarent wind damaged surroundings.

Jack nods slightly "That's as good a description of what happened as any. Let's just say, there was a problem and I delt with it. It'll all be in my report. Let's link in with Ramona and check on our guest." he says.

"But what happened to the people you were fighting? Did they get away?" With how strong Jack was, she really wasn't all that surprised at all.

Jack nods sheepishly "Yeah. It was like Alice said, once she left, her spell faded and the guy we were after took off and the attacker took off after him." he says, glancing at the Hunters "Five or so minuets later, these guys showed up and then you two." he explains.

He claps Marcen on the back "Come guys. Let's head back to the others." he says as he starts out.

Marcen eyes the Hunters as he leaves and when he was sure they weren't being followed, he looks to Jack "Nice cover story. The truth?" he asks.

Jack chuckles "Man, nothing really does get past you, does it?" he asks the Zoanthrope, who shakes his head "Not much. So, what happened?"

Jack nods "Okay, you're right. That was just a cover story. The two that attacked, didn't get away..." he says as he pulls out a data chips from his belt "I compressed Vlad into data after the others left and went after the remaining assailant. It was some guy,who looked like an accountant who looked down on his luck and got some bad advice from 'someone'... he says, refering to the Outsider.

"I talked him down from his rage and let him go. But not before tagging him for monitoring, which Buddy is doing now. The Hunters showed up before the guy could leave and I managed to convince the Hunters that he was a civilian caught in the crossfire and I was seeing to his needs." he explains in a low tone.

Natomi did't like the sound of this at all. "It seems Manny was right with this Outsider character being bad news from everything we're seeing and hearing. But how the heck are we going to stop a supposed half deity and Devil from just doing what they please? I deal with supernatural stuff all the time, but never full Gods or Devils." Briefly, she wondered if any super heroes in Jack's dimension Did specialize in that sort of thing though.

Marcen was inclined to agree with Natomi on this "I'm going to reserve my judgement until I have stronger proof. Some bad advice is a long way from being a villain. Yakamo, the guy who attacked us, simply didn't know his own strength and has promised not to use the Outsider's powers again, unless it's a life or death emergency." he explains.

Marcen frowns "And you believe him?" he asks. He knew Jack was good natured and sometimes he acted a bit thick, but Marcen never pegged him for gullible.

Jack shrugs "I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. But just to be safe, as I said before, I'm having Buddy monitor him and if he does something we don't like, we're to turn him over to the Hunters." he says.

They get back to the shop and Jack nods to the otjers "I'm gonna head on up and check on my kid. You two get some food and rest. You guys earned it as usual." he says, giving them a thumbs up.

Natomi assumed he meant Christine, which if true made sense. She had a lot of things on her mind after what happened today. "Soon as I'm done eating I'm probably going to lay down. A lot of my mind but I don't think about some of them fully until I've been rested."

Marcen npds "I think... i'm gonna hit the holodeck for some training." he says as he heads on off "If you need me, I'll be in holodeck two." he says to Jack and Natomi.

Jack watches him leave and chuckles lightly "He's always on the move it seems." he says, then nods to Natomi and heads up stairs.

He wanders around, taking in the sights and feeling a bit nostalgic and sad at the same time. That was until Christine comes walking out of the kitchen in her underwear, socks, a plant spaghetti and that's it.

She looks over to Jack "Oh, hi there dad. How was your day? If you're hungry I made spaghetti and meatballs." she says in a casual tone.

Jack sighs to himself "My day went fine. Another win for the good guys. Christine, why are you walking around topless?" he asks.

She sits down and shrugs "Why not? I'm the only one living up here and the only ones who have keys are me, you and Jason and you two don't care if I wander around topless..." she says, then looks at Jack "Do you?"

Jack rubs his temples "I suppose not. Just keep the curtains closed. If you need anything, give me a call and I'll be right up. The only thing I ask, is that you be decent." he says, then kisses her cheek and heads back out.

Back in the base, Charity was still in a deep conversation with Buddy about life, the universe, and everything. Samuel had never known that there was another person out there who talked more then he did.

He sees Marcen and Natomi wander on in "Ah, welcome my friends and congratulations on a job well done. I have made hou a little something to eat, under the assumption that you would be hungry." he says with a welcoming smile.

There was a lot for Emanulle to think about after what happened today.

The first was of course the Outsider but he wasn't sure where to even begin with that. Too many unknowns and things left unaswered but ultimately he wondered what was even the point of this game. It didn't feel like just a balance thing, he firmly believed there was something more to it, but the question was what?

On another note, he had thought about his and Ramona's earlier conversation with how things were going on now. While he had said he wouldn't bother with anything romantic, he realized that would make him a hypocrite.

In short, if he was helping Alice get out of her shell and that life was about getting back up after it knocked you down, he actually had to walk it. It wouldn't be good to say that but not actually walk the walk. Just because his various encounters hadn't ended like he might of wanted didn't mean to give up.

Easier said then done. Since he was a single parent he also had to take into account of his child, being a good parental figure. It wouldn't be fair to Michru or who ever if they weren't comfortable in their own skin.

Still it was very low on his priorty list at the moment with much stuff going on. He felt like talking to his aunt or Monica but they weren't here anymore. So when it came down to it, in this dimension Michru and this circle was all he had left.

He joined the others soon, after he sorted out a few things

Natomi greeted them. "Thanks. It went by good and we learned a bit more so all and all I'd say it was a good day. What have you been two up to?" She asked Samuel and Buddy.

Samuel shrugs "I've been on light duty, watching the monitors. I believe Jack wants to make sure I truely am alright, before he clears me for active duty." he says.

"And I've been getting bombarded by questions about every subject known to man and even some not known, by our new guest." Buddy says, sounding a bit irritated "You'd think she would run out of words at one point, but that woman has more words than a dictionary."

Natomi nodded a it to that, she didn't want Sam to have a relapse or anything bad happen to them. Buddy sounded a bit annoyed which amused her a bit since he was normally the talker.

She turned to Charrity. "We'll, its nice to meet you. My name is Natomi Mugen. It might take some getting used to but hope you're comfortable for however long you're here." From the corner of her eye she saw Manny make his way down, probably to get something to eat or whatever.

The logomorph holds put a hand "I'm Charity Morrison. It's good to meet you." she eyes Natomi "Don't take this the wrong way, but if this super hero thing doesn't work out, ever consider professional dancing? With a body like your you would be quite popular." she says, a twinkle in her eyes. Samuel stifles a chuckle while Buddy was laughing his circuits off.

Marcen had finished his warm up and was ready to run his program, when the arch appeared and the com beeps at him "Hey Marcen, I was going over the email on the website and I found a letter that's kinda addressed to you, that I think you should look at." Buddy says.

Marcen sighs and walks over to the arch "Okay, Buddy, let's see it." he says as the message pops up. Marcen reads it, then rereads it, a frown on his K-9 face. He turns to the door, which slides open and the holodeck goes into standby as the shinobi leaves.

Natomi chuckled and shook her head. "I'll pass. besides I have something else in mind I want to do after this." She didn't exactly talk about it in length save for a few like her sensei.

"Oh and this is Manny." The young Farian introduced when the young man went to see what the fuss was about.

"We met already, but thank you." He replied politely. "I know some things may take some getting used to but I think you'll enjoy it once you get used to it while you're here, if you aren't already."

Charity shales her head "Oh, I don't plan on staying here long. Just long enough fpr that metal handed nut job to be apprehended, then I'm back to my old life." she says with a smile "I'll be damned if I'm gonna let some frealy God thing keep me from enjoying life." she states.

"Then worry no more!" Jack says as he.wanders in, one of his award winning smiles on his face "Vlad has been taken care of, as has that other fellow who attacked. You can now live your life." he says, confident.

Marcen was suddenly There! Right behind Jack "If you like, I can escort miss Morrison to her dwelling." he offers.

Jack nods, not at all surprised that one of their resident shinobis was suddenly there "Alright. If Charity is ready to leave, be my guest." he says, then looks over to their other resident ninja "Natomi, would you mind accompanying them, just incase they need back up?" Jack asks.

Natomi nodded a bit. "Sure. I have no problems with it." It would be much safer that way then just traveling alone and two people could pick up on things a single person would miss.

As they head out, Charity takes the lead, showing them the way to her apartment. Maecen sighs "I hated doing that to him, because his ego asidw, Jack's a great guy." he points out.

He watches Charity as he talks to Natomi "After we escort her to her apartment and secure it, would you mind helping me with a little matter?" he asks.

"Just before we left, I got a message from another shinobi from a rival village. They want to speak to me about something They say is important. I think I should have some back up incase it's a trap." he explains.

"Seems like even here Hidden Village politics rears it head a bit. Of course I'd be happy to help. Besides being my teamate, you're my friend. Though not sure what they could want.." There was down sides to being apart of a ninja village, if things went wrong, they could Really go wrong as she found out herself.
