Small Starts

Adell had waited for Amanda to be finished before leaving with her out of the hotel and back to his home. The storm had soaked him but he didn't mind too much considering what he was he could dry pretty quickly. The apartment was a decent two bed room one, it wasn't too big or too small just right in the middle.

"Make yourself at home, we'll head out soon." Adell figured a shopping trip for Amanda was in order; that might be a hassle. He hadn't received the card Ness had given Amanda yet.

Amanda grumbles, not liking the fact that she was drenched again "I don't think making myself 'at home' is a good idea if we're only going to be leaving soon." she grumbles.

"Oh yes, before I forget. That Ness fellow wanted me to give this to you." she says as she holds out the card.

It was a card to Lee and Dino's U.S.S.R. system. There was an item retrieval number on it as well. All Adell needed to get it, was a phone and the app.

Adell looked the card over for a bit, before grabbing his phone and trying to test it out. This Would be useful for traveling as far as bringing things with them. "Tomorrow we could get shopping. If we're going to travel, this card Ness gave me will make it easier. It's the U.S.S.R. system from Lee and Dino's."

As Adell tests the item number, something materialized on the table. It was a strange, red Sword with a data pad next to it.

The data pad blinks on and a video of Ness was on it "Hey Adell. If you're seeing this, then you've hit the road and have Amanda with you. It's going to be a perilous journey that's bound to be full of dangers, so I give you this." the video says.

"It's a copy of a very powerful weapon called The Monado. It'll take sometime to adjust it's self to your energy patterns, but once it does, you'll be able to activate it and enhance one of your special traits, like your strength or your speed. The instructions are included on this data pad." he says.

"The Monado is a powerful weapon and once it locks onto your personal energy, no other can use it. Not like you can. Use it in peace, where ever your travels take you." he says with a small salute, then the data pad blinks off.

Adell put the data sword over as he went to look over the sword. He wasn't too fond of weapons but if it worked he'd take it. It was something he learned by being by Monica, she wasn't the strongest person around but she always survived not just by luck though it was in part of it, but because she adjusted and did things smartly.


"Do you know how to use swords at all? I got one from Ness." He asked Amanda. Hyrule was their first stop which apparently they needed to get their via ship but he wasn't sure where since Hyrule wasn't commonly known here.

He doubted Hyrule would be the place he'd stay at since according to Angelique you were required to wear special pens that surpressed his powers. Adell didn't want to live the rest of his life surpressing part of himself completely like that.

After a moment, he discharged the sword and began looking through the data pad. Maybe that message was All it had but it couldn't hurt to look if there was a bit of extra useful information on it that might help them on their trips.

Of course there was useful information on the data pad. Ness had already said there were instructions on how to use the Monado and sure enough, there was.


Included, was a video showing how to reboot the Monado and how to use the Monado Arts. Unfortunately, that was all that was on the data pad.

Adell put it away for now. "I'm going to get some rest Amanda, we'll both need it for tomorrow. Good night." He headed to his own room to get some Much needed sleep for the next day. Next would be trying to get a ride to Hyrule.

Amanda sighs a frustrated sigh. She wasn't tired at all. Infact, she had just awoken from a forced sleep. Plus, there was still thunder and lightning, which made it hard for her to sleep And she was Still soaked with Nothing to wear once she got out of her wet clothes.

She grumps over to the bathroom and strips off her wet clothes and wanders out with a towel, drying herself off. It really didn't matter if she was completely undressed, because Adell had gone to his own room, which meant she was all alone.

She flops back on the bed with a frustrated groan *Is this really what I want to do? Wander aimelessly with no goal or purpose? I suppose I Could look at this as an opportunity to expand my influence base.* she thinks.

There was a knock on her door after a moment. "I'm just leaving some extra clothes for you to wear for later. Get them when you want." The sound of retreating foot steps were heard as he left; Amanda would find various clothes neatly folded that could wore by either gender.

Amanda jumps off her bed and wanders over to the door, looking out the peephole, sees no one. She cracks the door open and takes a cautious look outside, then opens it a bit wider, grabs the clothes and slams the door, locking it.

She gives the clothes the once over. They would do for now. As odd as it may sound, she liked 'girly' clothing. Skirts and bows with lace and such. She would save these for tomorrow and get her dress properly cleaned.

She had to wonder where, exactly, they were planning on going. Adell had yet to fill her in on the master plan. So she figured she would have to wait. She wasn't keen on waiting. So she lays back down on the bed and stares at the ceiling, not the least bit tired.

It was a slow night, but it got through. Early the next morning Adell was cooking breakfast for himself and Amanda, having been on his own a bit learning how to cook was kinda required since eating out all the time cost a arm and a leg. It was really a basic life skill everyone should learn when living on their own really in his opinion.

Amanda comes walking out of her room. Fully dressed and ready to move. She looks at what Adell was cooking and sits down at the table, crossing her legs and folding her arms "If I may ask, what exactly is the plan?" she asks "So far you've neglected to mention where we would be going or how we would be traveling there." she points out.

"Morning." Adell said as he turned to Amanda, serving her plate with things like pancakes and eggs. "We'll be heading to Hyrule, as for how we're getting there, we'll be going by ship. Different ones take different amount of time, but before that we're going to shop to get me you some more clothes to wear. I'm sure you'd rather have your own stuff and not wear the same thing everyday."

She mumbles her thanks for the breakfast. Amanda had eggs before, but not pancakes. She wasn't Quite sure what to make of them at the moment. She looks at Adell "If I recall, boats on this world are quite expensive." she points out "How do you plan to go about acquiring one and more over, do you know how to get to Hyrule?" she asks "Or, are we going to charter a boat to Hyrule?"

Adell shook his head as he sat down. "The later. Buying a boat, much less one going to Hyrule would cost way too much money. We'll, on my end. Even if we could get a private boat neither of us can drive it so we'd have to get someone else. I know how to get to Hyrule, I had friends that went there including two where it was their original home. So that part isn't a issue."

Amanda nods, impressed a bit by the fact that Adell knew where Hyrule was. Most never even Heard of it, let alone know how to get to it "Well, since you know how to get to Hyrule, you must also know we're on the wrong continent, right?" she asks "I also need to point out that I Can captain a ship as well as navigate one." she points out "So, how are we going to get to New York? Boat, Plane or Teleportation?" she asks.

Adell paused at the last one. "You can teleport? Huh. The more you know. We'll if you can that would be better then the other two. Who taught you how drive a boat?" Regina? Or maybe someone else but it did seem like she was learning some skills to survive in the outside world.

Amanda shakes her head "No. Well, I suppose I can to a certain degree. I can ask mother if she could teleport us to where we need to go. However, every time I ask her for a favor, she never lets me hear the end of it." she says "As for how I learned to sail a boat, one of mothers many tutors had taught me. As well as how to fly a plane." she says with no small amount of pride.

Adell smiled. "In that case, we'll just do it the old fashion way under our own power and take a plane to New York but we need to go shopping first. You ready to start?"

Amanda shakes her head "Not quite. I still would like to finish my breakfast." she says as she pokes the pancakes a bit. In the end, she just ate the eggs and was still a bit hungry after they left.

As they were heading to where ever it was they were going, Amanda looks over to Adell "So...Do you know where we're going to get a plane?" she asks "Um, also, I think I should point out that I don't Exactly have a pilot's license....so, yeah..." she mumbles the last part.

Adell just nodded, grabbing his bacpack with some of his things as he walked out.

"The plane we can just catch a flight. I did us a favor and booked us a flight last night on the net, we have some time before it starts."

Adell continued until he spotted a clothing store and headed inside. "All right, go ahead and grab you a few extra set of clothes. We don't have that storage thing so we're limited what we can take in a bag."

Amanda laughs at this as she shifts her hand bag "You see this? It's a hand bag of holding Mother gave to me." she says "With this, I can store whatever I want, as much as I want, so long as it'll fit into the mouth of the hand bag." she boasts.

"So I plan on buying a good number of outfits and anything else that gains my attention." she says as she heads out.

It was about an hour later and Amanda had bought everything that was in her size and a few things that weren't in her size. She Did, however, seem disappointed that there wasn't anything else, so she suggested a shopping mall!

Adell wondered if she really needed That much clothes, but hey it was her own money so she could do what she wanted with it. A mall he luckily knew where one was nearby and he had no doubt in his mind it would be rather crowded.

He checked his watch, it was good they still had some time for another good run if Amanda went that route like before.

Once at the mall, Amanda asked Adell if he would kindly wait for her at the local food core while she seen to her shopping. She promised that she wouldn't take too long, as she knew, already, what she wanted.

And like that, she was off! She disappeared into the crowd and didn't return for close to an hour! She looked content with her bounty "We may leave whenever you're ready." she says, looking satisfied.

Adell was a bit annoyed Amanda had vanished for a hour, they obviously had different ideas of what a short time was but he didn't make a big deal out of it. He was more focused on getting to their flight on time, which luckily they had time for or he would have actually been more then slightly irriated.

When they got to the airport to check out everything with the annoying mundane stuff they had to wait before the flight actually got there. Amanda's extra shopping turned out to be a good thing in a way; now they didn't have to wait As long.

Amanda and Adell both got first class, only because Adell was using the money he had saved up for this sort of thing. It was a bit more pricy, but why not treat yourself every once in a while?

(Adell and Amanda are out. It's up to you, but I rather skip New York, give them a few days then have you start a thread in Hyrule. That way the filler and fluff preparing for it is out the way but up to you.)
