He is more trusting of animals then he is of people and prefers the former's company more. Animals are much easier to understand, people for better or worse not as much. Due to how he grew up and avoiding some things others took for granted, certain social things fly over his head. That said, he's not really completely socially inept as he lacks experience in certain areas.

History:

Arun doesn't remember his biological parents, instead his earliest memories were of old man in a cabin named Ivaran Herlynn. He was pretty tight lipped about certain aspects of his past, why he was there but was pretty straight forward of what he knew of Arun; which wasn't too much. They found them wrapped up and left at his door step, but he was never able to find out who left him or why.

Given that while Ivaran was rough around the edges but always straight with him otherwise, he was inclined to believe them. It was eventually revealed the eccentric old man was a rather good inventor, and seeing Arun he thought he also had potential if he choose that way.

Eventually, illness caught up with Ivaran and after he passed on Arun began to travel and survive off the land. He mostly stayed away from the bigger settlements; and to also be fair since the cabin was located deep off into the wilds it was pretty easy. He survived mostly off his wits and the two animal companions he saved that ended up following him around.

He's not entirely sure what the next chapter of his story is. Maybe he'd find out more what happened with his biological family, or maybe finally take his skills in some place rather then muking about. For now he was fine just seeing where the road led him.
