General Description:

Xilan's or Dread Spirits as they are called are essentially Elemental Spirits that are harmless and weak on their own, unable to physically interact with much. However when they get a host to form a partnership is where they can really shine.(Think Symbioete's from Marvel)

They have been used from heroes to villians alike, and while rare back in the day they are even less common in the modern era. Most people don't even know they exist or mistake them for demons due to their looks.

 How they got the nickname Dread Spirits is because of their monster/demon like appearance many of them have.

Origin:  Earth, Japan. They are of course spread out from there.

Language It really depends where they spent most of their time. Since their race seems to originate from Japan, Japanese is among one of their mainstays along with English

Personality:
 Xilan's have a wide variety of personalities, and they are heavily(most of the time) influenced by their first host. The younger ones though intelligent could almost be considered like children with their host usually being the closes thing to a parent.

Since when they don't have a host they can't taste or do anything of that nature, they tend to love to eat and develop rather odd cravings due to the fact. Most, however have a sense of duty as far as looking after earth's people and particular those who can't fend for themselves as well.

Of course, there are some that are just evil and cruel and everything in between.

Physical Description:
When not bonded to a host,  they appear as simply phantom-like gas which color varies depending on their element(of which, most can't see unless spiritually aware) . However, when bonded and they physically mainfest they can be mistaken for demons or monsters. Some even have a demon-like knight vibe going on.

Natural Power Set:

Enhanced Sense(EX)
They have enhanced senses, weak to opposing effects. They can also see in total darkness.
(EX)Elemental Nature: Due to their state of being, they have the standard upsides of their type, meaning high resistance to sleep, common posions and paralysis effects. Nor do they need to eat or breath.

(SU) Elemental Control:
True to what they are, they are born with a element they control. It's usually the more classic fire, electricity water, ice and wind. There is some odd ball choices of some non classical ones, mainly Plasma for example. It should be noted that the color of the element may differ from the norm depending on the user(I.e. black fire or ice)

They can only use this when transformed.'

(SU) Super Natural Stats[/b]: When bonded with a host, they have superhuman physical stats, or enhance what is already there. Because there are multiple factors such as the host and the spirit itself, there isn't a clear cut base line except for the fact they're all quite fast and strong. If an exceptionally strong Dread Spirit bonds with a human for example, said host wouldn't be able to use their full power without killing themselves and instead would have to gradually increase their strength to draw it out safely.

Their physical stats and element power improve by age.  Only applies when transformed.

(SU) Enhanced healing:
Dread Spirits when bonded with a host have a enhanced healing factor, a broken bone can be healed in thirty minutes. They can increase the spped at the cost of energy which drains them.

(SU) Regeneration:
They can regenerate loss limbs by expanding their energy, which can make tired depending how much energy they have. In addition, it means they have to eat a Lot to make up for the loss energy due to metabolism of sorts.

(SU) The Bonded Process, aka find a host.


Similar to other supernatural beings, Dread Spirits can only enter if they get a invite from their potential host. Until then, its up to them to coax the intended target to do so. Once they get the go ahead, they can bond with the host and lend them their power. It however takes a day or a week for them to fully adjust to it.
 
Symptons of the adjusdement period include:

1. Large appetite and needing to eat more regularly, odd cravings

2. More sluggish then normal, and more tired and sickly.

Until the adjustment process is complete, they can't fully safely tap into their power. However, in a emergency they can force a transformation before they're ready, but it'll only last a short time and then they'll be out cold. While a Dread Spirit can take control, its only if the host allows them to do so.

It should be noted that Only native born people from earth can be made to be a compatitble host. A common way to get invited is when the potential host is dying from bad wounds or in physical danger.  When bonded, should the host die, they would as well.

Their powers do Not stack on top of each other with their host and its either one or the other.

(SU) Silver Weakness: They have a wekness to it, if it gets into them it can not only nullify their self healing powers, but enough can effectively neuter their powers forcing their host to defend for themselves. It can of course also of course kill them more easily then a normal weapon would.

(EX) Sonic Weakness: Their kind for reasons unkown have a weakness to sonic based weapons, which can disrupt their hold and power, meaning for a time their host would have to fend for themselves before they regained their strength.

In addition to these, if their element has a opposing natural element, they are weaker to that naturally.  But they are of course resistant to their own element.

(SU) Weapon Manifestation: Certain members of their kind but not all, can mainfest a melee weapon that best fits them. Once this happens, its set and cannot be changed. The weapon has no special qualties or anything to it, though it does become more durable as the user becomes stronger. Only mainfest when transformed.

When you say 'native born people from Earth', you mean indigenous To Earth, right? While I'm not completely sold on them suddenly being there, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. ╛══╧╠╙┬┴, but I'll be keeping an eye on them.

Since its been brought to my attention of their base line stats;

A brand new member of their kind can lift about three tons, is fast enough to vanish from normal human eyesight the rest of their stats are 30x their weight.

To add clarify on the above bio, if a old Xilan goes to a new/inexperienced host they can't just use all their power at once but have to get used to it and draw it out over time, or it means bad things for them and their host, like killing them both.

One other thing, they can appear visible as either their normal selves or just a 'normal' humanoid form even to people not spiritually aware. However, it usually requires energy in the environment either positive or negative for them to manifest. Their more 'normal' humanoid form resembles any of the native races keeping with that theme, and is set as they can't change it.

This also means they can do by temporary leaving the host for a short period, taking some of the energy from them. Also gonna remove the sound weakness, it doesn't make as much sense as they don't need to be exact copies of Marvel symbiotes.
