Reunions

All was quiet in an old mansion, located somewhere inside Tokyo. There was a strange 'ZIPPING!!' sound and suddenly Jennifer and Espen Goldsmith were standing inside. Jennifer looks around and nods "We're here." she says "Your estate in Japan. I felt it was the most appropriate place to, ummm, teleport in." she says. She was still trying to get use to all of Earth's strange languages and the slang that went along with those languages.

She looks over to Espen "We may leave whenever you're ready, but I first suggest freshening up. This Is the leader of my people we're going to see." she points out. That for all their friendship goes, Alister was now an important political and diplomatic dignitary.

Espen knew Jennifer had a point so he took her advice. "Good idea. I'll be out soon. Please go ahead and make yourself at home." He smiled at her then went to the bathroom to get cleaned up. His mind was on a variety of things, including meeting with his old friend and seeing what all he had been up to. More then just a bodyguard now, he was glad Jennifer was still with him since had gotten so used to her company.

There wasn't much of anyone else here at the moment, Espen didn't use this place much and it showed.

Jennifer looks around, using all of her senses to see if there was anyone else here. It didn't appear that anyone else was here. So she decided to relax for a bit, at least until Espen was finished. She folds her wings away and sits on the couch, after she takes the cover off, then she lays down to rest for a spell.

Espen came back after a bit of time of cleaning up, going to find Jennifer resting. He didn't really want to wake her up, she looked rather peaceful like that but they needed to get going. "Jennifer, are you awake?"

Jennifer was up in a flash, wings out "Of course." she says, instantly at the ready "When ever you're ready, we shall depart." she says as she walks over to the door, waiting for Espen's go-a-head.

Espen nodded, he was ready now so he decided to leave and close the door behind them once he and Jennifer were through. He was curious of what the Mystic Embassy would look like, the people who ran it among other things but he'd find out soon enough.

Jennifer nods and leads Espen out. It didn't take them long to drive to the Mystic Embassy. It looked like a building, normal and dull. It had strange flags on the outside. Jennifer gets out and puts both hands on her chest, then one to her forehead, and slightly extends it to the symbol on the flag.

The guards at the Embassy were Mystics, they let Espen in without question. The people working inside were also Mystics as well. Royal guards come walking out of an elevator, followed by Alister. The Mystics working gave the same bow as Jennifer did.

He had a smile on his face as he extends a hand to his friend "Espen! It's good of you to have come." he says "I knew that when I announced the opening of the embassy you would show up soon enough." he says as he motions "Come, let us talk in my office." he offers.

Espen shook his old friends hand. "It's good to see you again Alister, we have a lot to talk about." He went to follow after him as he lead. "There's two other friends that'll be arriving sooner or later. Lady Souten and Lord Norpheus, I believe you met them briefly during that meeting." It had been some time ago since then, but Mystics had exceptionally good memory so they would probably recall things even he had forgotten about.

Alister nods "Yes, I recall them." he says "I would like a chance to meet with them again." he says "But until then, lets talk about what I've built here." he says as he closes the door to his office "For now, I'll only be allowing political figures through until I can ensure the safety of those who visit." he points out "Though it's relatively peaceful, we do have our share of troubles." he explains "Like the Outcasts. Outlaws and criminals who have taken to living outside the cities." he says "They're lead by a very powerful Mystic named Amadeus Mortrum." he mumbles "Until we get them taken care of, we can't risk innocent lives." he states.

Espen could only nod to that. "Fair enough. I wish I could say there was more interesting things happening, though sometimes no news is good news. Me and Norpheus were discussing about the Hunters and the treaties. Souten brought up a point about how while they're good on paper, they have some to be desired. Such as loopholes that let nonhumans hurt humans and hunters can't do anything about it. Just like hunters can go after nonhumans if they have any kind of proof they have or were going to hurt humans."

"It's flawed in a number of ways. I was thinking of revising it, but I doubt they will but doesn't hurt to try. Once I get a copy of the treaties I can attempt to see what I can do. Other then that, we talked about the ideas proposed in that..last meeting. I haven't figured anything out yet however."

Alister nods "Well, once I get things smoothed out among my own people, I'll see what I can do about helping the people here." he says, thinking "Maybe I could talk to the Galford. See if he can help..." he mumbles, more to himself then anyone "This is, after all, his planet..." he says in a low tone.

Espen didn't know much about the 'Galford' except a little bit here and there, apparently they were their creator. "Take your time. In lighter news, what all has been going on while you were away?"

Alister shrugs "Well, I've been guiding my people while seeing to the construction of Two embassies." he explains "One for here and one in my home land." he says "We are days away from taking the first people from this world to ours." he says with a smile "It's been a hard road, but I believe we're finally ready." he states.

Espen was glad this was working out, but something occurred to him he felt he needed to address. "Our old friend Alden is..getting up there. The last I talked to him, he wanted to try to get into contact with you. Since he's getting there in age, he was hoping to find someone to take his place. He had the idea of one of your people since they're so long lived, preferably someone who likes children themselves. You're a busy man I know but its something else to think about."

Alister nods "Busy I am. But not so much that I can't help out an old friend." he says "Alden was the first person to welcome me to this realm and I told him that I would look after his children and I aim to do that." he says "Call Alden and let him know that I shall help him." he says "Though, it's going to be tough to find one of my people to watch over children." he mumbles.

Espen nodded to that. "I will. Just be sure to visit him when you get the chance. That said, why exactly would that be difficult?"

Alister nods "You can bet I'll try my best." he says "As for why it would be difficult..." he starts "Well, since Mystic's have such a long life, the Mighty Galford thought it best to avoid over population by limiting our reproduction." he says "So, with, uhhh, that being the case, we don't have many children." he says in a low tone.

"We'll, I'm sure you'll be able to find someone. It's not a strict requirement they have prior experience with children. As long as they're kind and patient, the rest can be worked out." Espen said.

Alister nods "Not to worry. I shall find the right person for the job." he assures his friend as he gets up "Now, I have a dozen things I must be doing..." he says "But they all can wait until later." he says "How about some lunch? My treat." he offers.

Espen thought about it, then nodded. "I don't see why not. It's been too long."

Alister nods as he looks towards a door, obviously 'Mind Speaking' to his secretary about moving his appointments to a later time. Then he looks over to his guests "Shall we be off?" he asks "Does anyone have any specific preferences?" he asks.

Espen thought about it for a moment, then shook his head at that. "No. I'm pretty easy going so just about anything is fine."

Alister nods "Follow me." he says "Though the restaurants here have yet to emulate my people's food, but there still a lot of good ones out there." he says as he walks out of the embassy to a waiting with Mystic flags on it "Climb on in, everyone." he says.

Espen followed without complaint, in his mind food was food so he didn't much care where they ended up going to eat.

It didn't take them long to get to where they were going. Alister had decided on sushi, never having had it before. Alister told them to order what they wanted, he would pay for everything. He didn't mind. Once they were settled in and had eaten, he needed to talk with Espen about something else that had come to his attention and possibly Espen's as well.
