Joshua shrugs slightly "It's a possibility. I mean, I don't really know too much about Earth. Only that, as diverse as it's cultures are, the Humans are surprisingly...suspicious, of all non Humans." he says.

* *

Alister nods "I was a minor noble. It was expected of me to try for a seat on the council and work my way up through the ranks of nobility through the usual means, here on Elysium. Through influence or marriage." he says.

"When the door between worlds opened, the Arch Bishop had ordered that no one go near it. It was like that for years and in all that time, we knew nothing about it." he explains.

"So, in spite of my Lords orders, I knew there had to be something on the other side. So I gathered a few belongings and stepped through. Though, the moment I did that, I gave up all claims I had to nobility." he says with a slight sigh.

Than he smiles "I don't regret my decision, though. On the other side of the Rift, I found a world full of wonder, intrigue, mystery and near infinite promise to become something greater." he says.

"If I had followed my Lord's command, like it was expected of me, I would have never met the people I know and Earth and Elysium would never have had the chance to meet." he points out.

Hiromi mulled it over. "It's a number of things. In the past some of the other races didn't have the..best track record with them. On top of that humans are rather weak and frail, so that's bound to make them even more cautious around beings that can literally break them in half or have other sorts of abilties. I don't see it changing soon. Not without something a bit more drastic. The invasion we had years ago certainly didn't help."

* *

Nikki smiled. "Funny how sometimes the smallest seemingly pointless actions sometimes end up having the biggest effect. I wasn't born on earth myself, my home realm is named Noreal but I'm not sure if it'll ever make contact with earth. The other encounters my home realm had with other realms have not been the most pleasant. On one hand it made the races there closer, on the other it made them a bit more distrustful of outsiders. It's helped that not all encounters have been bad, such as with Alus. Still, I suppose its nothing wonder about since I don't live there anymore."

Joshua nods "I heard and even read a report about that terrible ordeal. Had our two worlds known each other at the time, I feel certain that the Lord Arch Bishop would have sent aid." he says.

"In the event of another encounter such as that, how, if I may ask, is your world prepared to deal with it?" he asks.

* *

Alister nods slowly "Home is home. No matter how far we are from it, you never stop missing it." he says.

"The Humans have a very curious saying. 'Home is where the heart is'. I actually believe that to be one of their few powerful sayings." he says.

The music stops at that point, which meant the dance was now over. Alister moves back a step and bows to Nikki "Miss Nakeen, I thank you for the dance. If you wouldn't mind, I would very much like to finish our discussion. Maybe in my study, if you're free?" he asks.

Hiromi frowned a bit, the warrior part of her kicking in. "Brutally honest assesment? No. They have some new powerful marchines but the problem is in modern war, air supremacy wins the war. In space, its the same only up to eleven. What I mean to say is, even if a force Can beat a enemy on the ground it means little if the other can simply glass the planet from space. In that sense, no matter how powerful certain forces on the ground may be, if they can't reach them and need to breath, they're essentially powerless.

"We were lucky it seemed to be a search instead of trying to destroy us or we may not be here by now."

* *

Nikki thought about it, then nodded. "I don't mind. I'm not doing anything else at the moment and I would love to continue talking."

Joshua nods slowly "That's an excellent point...the concept of space and inter planetary travel is, well, it's not something my people seem very interested in." he says.

"I, on the other hand, am fascinated by the notion of exploring beyond our own planet. I mean, to think what all is really out there." he says, grinning a bit.

* *

Alister excuses himself and leads Nikki to his study. He left the doors open, just incase someone needed either one of them. He motions for Nikki to have a seat "Would you like something to drink?" he asks.

Hiromi smiled a bit. "Indeed. Exploring has always been something of a passion of mind. I used to have a bit of wander lust in my younger days but that has mellowed out a bit. It's still there slightly, but not as strong its more curiousity. My friend Jennifer mentioned something about the Great Descent that explores planets that was made in Hyrule. That would be interesting to pertake in."

* *

Nikki was curious what kind of drink but then went along with it. "Yes, thank you. You have a well put together study, its relaxing."

This got Joshua thinking "I have heard of this Hyrule before, but we know little of it...I think it's time that changed." he says, still thinking.

"I believe that, in the morn, I shall approach my Lord Arch Bishop and see if it's possible to establish good relations with Hyrule. Maybe I can request to become the ambassador there." he chuckles.

* *

Alister nods "Thank you. After the Mighty Galford appointed me the new Arch Bishop, the maids tailored the room to suit my personality and habits." he chuckles as he hands Nikki her drink "I sometimes believe I would be lost without them." he says.

"It may not be a bad idea. Your people aren't interested in space now, but maybe an example of their own kind could get them motivated?" Hiromi suggested.

* *

"The people in the background are what make most of what we enjoy possible. It's just we at times forget that in the hustle and bustle of our lives." Nikki agreed, taking a sip of her drink. "I'm also glad my daughter Vira is coping relatively well after her loss but she's always been a strong young woman. This place will do her some good."

Joshua nods "My people love a good adventure. It shouldn't take too much convincing on my part to talk them into going along with this idea." he says, nodding.

"Yes. The more I think about this, the more I feel it's the right thing to do." he says as he gently takes Hiromi's hand.

"Thank you, lady Hiromi. Meeting you has inspired me as never have I been before." he as he kisses the back of her hand.

* *

Alister nods slowly "We all deal with losses, differently, in our own way. I feel that here, Vira will heal and given time, she may even find her true happiness." he says slowly.

Hiromi blushed faintly again to that, but she wasn't unhappy quite the opposite. "I..uh, we'll thank you." She said a bit flustered unlike her usual calm self. "It was very nice meeting you. We'll have to talk again some time."

* *

Nikki nodded. "I have faith in her. In lighter news, I am curious of something. On your travels on earth, what would you say is your favorite place there?"

Joshua nods with a smile "There's little that would give me more pleasure, than spending time with you, lady Hiromi." he says with a bow "I wish you a joyous evening." he says as he excuses himself.

"Well, well. Looks like it's a bit too hot for someone here." Jennifer says with a chuckle as she walks up behind Hiromi "I take it you're enjoying our 'Hospitality'?" she asks.

* *

Alister thinks for a bit "I would have to say, oddly enough, the 'Humanity' of the place." he says after a bit.

"Allow me to clarify a bit. On Earth, there are many who do bad things, that's for sure. However, there are just as many, if not more, who do good, because it's the right thing to do." he says with a smile.

"I think, that's what I found most appealing about Earth. That and the simple creativity of the Humans as a race. Because of their incredibly short lives, they strive ever forward to leave behind something that everyone will remember them for." he says.

"Now granted, that something is, at times, quite horrific, but often, it's something that will benefit them as a whole and not just the Humans, but the other races on Earth...if only they would learn to coexist. he mumbles the last part.

"......."

Hiromi was embarrased but did her best to recover as she cleared her throat. "I..suppose you could say something like that. How are you Jennifer? For a moment I wasn't sure if you were here or not."

*  *

Nikki was silent for a moment. "Back at home, the races didn't get along too well at first. It was a combination of things that allowed things as they are now, one of the major ones being outside conflict Forced them to work together and see while there were differences, they also had things in common. Now you wouldn't be able to tell that was in the past with how things are now, and the amount of half-breeds around there between the races.I hope earth doesn't have to go through the mess we did for that..perhaps space travel would help that planet. I'm not sure."

Jennifer shrugs. She was still in her armor "I'm here to guard and escort Espen to his airboat once this 'shindig' is over." she says as she gives herself the once over "As for the armor, it keeps the horny boys at bay." she says with a twinkle in her eye.

* *

Alister nods slowly "Unification for a common goal or enemy can be a Powerful thing..." he mumbles.

"Before the events that lead to my ascension as Arch Bishop, I had learned of the former Arch Bishop's plan to invade the Earth." he says in a low tone.

"I dared to defy him by acting against my people and warning the world leaders, in a manner of speaking, about the impending invasion." he says, looking into the middle distance.

"I had hoped that if they could recognize a common and powerful enemy, they could come together in the spirit of cooperation and put the petty resentments in the past." he explains.

He sighs, a heavy sounding sigh "However, it seems that didn't happen. In fact, I only seemed to have made things worse by my actions."

Hiromi thought about it. "You know come to think of it, I don't think I ever once actually saw you without your armor on ever." Briefly she scanned the crowd, Espen was around still but she suspected he'd be wrapping things up before too long.

* *

Nikki gave a tired sigh. "I wish I could tell you it works all the times, but humans and sapient beings in general are stange, fickle beings at times. I sometimes can't explain half the things I do myself. Earth, I feel requires a different approach. Just like people, every realm is different. This would be true even if the planet houses the same exact races."

Jennifer grins a sly grin as she moves close to the dog demon "Why Hiromi, I didn't know you wanted to see me without my armor on..." she purrs, teasingly "To think you felt quite that way about me." she says, teasing.

* *

Alister nods "I believe that you're correct about that. Though, what is it that would bring the Humans together with all the other races?" he asks, more to himself then anyone.

"The last time the Humans came together with another race, it was the Zoanthropes and That cost the life of an innocent. If that's the price for understanding, it maybe just as well that the Humans don't understand anyone else." he mumbles.

Hiromi..wasn't sure how to react to that kind of teasing. Granted she had no interest in females but teasing like that had always been something of her own personal kryptonite. "..That's not what I meant."

"There you are. I was looking for you." It was Espen, Hiromi hadn't been so thankful for a interruption from someone in her life.

* *

"There are humans in Noreal, a decent population that get along decently enough with the races there.." Nikki was thinking. "But I don't think its fair comparison because of what I mentioned."

Jennifer chuckles at Hiromi's reaction "I know. I was just teasing you." she says lightly.

Than she turns to Espen "Yep. Here I am. Rosa tracked me down and said you wished to speak with me." she says.

* *

Alister nods "Indeed. Humans, for the most part, seem to be in a class all of their own. I've seen them do Many wondrous things that other races can do and yet, as bright and inventive as they are, they're so close minded."

He shakes his head "But enough of this depressing talk. How are you enjoying Elysium so far?" he asks "Have you been to the Jade Forest yet? After a rain, it looks breath taking in the light." he says with a fond smile.

Espen paused a bit to that. "I'm sorry Jennifer, I didn't know you were busy or were doing something. It's just when I didn't see you around I got worried."

* *

"The Jade Forest you say? We'll have to pay that place a visit. As for myself, I'm enjoying my stay a lot so far and would like to see about exploring more when the time comes. Maybe one day, I'll show you around my home, too." Nikki responded, placing her cup aside. "Has me and my daughters been the first time you met some of my kind? Nosferartu that is."

Jennifer waves a hand "Nothing to worry about." she says "I usually try to avoid social gatherings such as these, mainly because I don't like every young lord and official hitting on me, trying to get me in the sack." she says with a slight frown.

* *

Alister shakes his head "No. I've been working with Espen for a number of years now, trying to stabilize the situation back on Earth and I have met with a number of the different races there and even some who aren't from there." he says.

Espen thought about it and nodded. "I understand. Social gathering's like these have their places but they can be rather rowdy. Perhaps we could hang out somewhere more quite and peaceful?"

* *

Nikki wasn't too surprised, her people weren't exactly super common back on earth. Plus, they looked human so they could blend in; Espen could have met some and not even know it. "I always found it odd how there's so many off world races that end up on earth. Maybe there's a story to that. I mean, Noreal got offworlders but not to degree earth has."

Jennifer shrugs "I don't have a problem talking here." she says "Most men won't bother me, thinking that I'm one of the palace guards. So, what did you wish to talk about?" she asks.

* *

Alister nods "I honestly believe that's because Earth is the easiest to get to out of all the other realms I've heard of." he points out "I mean, I've heard of realms, much like Elysium, that you can only get to it from a dimensional portal and others like Hyrule, that's a whole planet." he says.

"The problem with the ones like Elysium, is that since it's a realm and not a planet, there's probably a Very good chance that what you see, is what you get. But with ones like Hyrule, the sky's the limit, as the Humans say." he points out.

Nikki tapped her chin. "It may be. Or..there Could be more then what we see. Until your people have some form of space travel we won't know for sure. I honestly couldn't say."

Jennifer shrugs "Here and there. Nowhere special. While you're here, you're protected so I have no reason to remain." she says simply.

* *

Alister thinks for a bit "Possibly, but I remain quite skeptical about that. Because if that Were the case, that wouldn't make it a 'realm', but rather a distant planet. Wouldn't it?" he asks.

"And if that Were the case, then it wouldn't be a realm, but rather a completely different dimension all together, right?" he asks.

Espen nodded. "Then don't let me stop you if you have other places you'd rather be, like I said I just was worried I didn't expect Rosa to bring you here."

* *

That did make Nikki wonder a few things really. It was always something that interested her, but other dimensions? It was best to start in their own backyard with planets first as the later was potentially more dangerous, plus no one(she was aware of) could casually travel to other dimensions via techology.

"That's actually a intriguing question. A bit both frightening and interesting at the same time. Interesting because of undiscovered things, and frightening because you I, and no one else knows what kinds of beings that may live here as well somewhere. Either way its just speculating either way. The subject has always been something that interest me."

Jennifer shrugs "I really don't have any place to be and like I said, I really don't go anywhere special. I just wander and see what's all changed in the time I've been gone." she says.

Contrary to what she originally said, there were one or two guys who were checking her out. It seemed that even guys liked girls in uniforms.

* *

Alister shrugs lightly "Perhaps. One of these days my people will explore the beyond and we'll have our answer. Whether or not this is a realm or a dimension and if it's the latter, it would be safe to assume the others are different dimensions as well. Wouldn't it?" he asks.
